My Tranny Is A Rebuilt Tranny And Its Got A Shift Kit Mileage On Its Is Like 50K
Shift kits never seem to be a good idea on stock transmissions. You'll probably break it weather you put DR's on or not.
Shifts kits are f-ing great on stock transmissions. Better for the clutches and stuff. Why do u think their not good for stock transmissions
Sent from my pager using Morse code. ... .. ... ....
I have a shift kit in mine and it hasn't hurt a thing. It all depends on how much harsher u make it shift
That doesn't mean a thing.
The shift kit I'm using is designed to be better on the tranny.
Its the transgo shift kit has been proven to reduce wear on clutches and get rid of common check engine light codes from the transmission while increasing stress on hard parts.
I've never heard of a shift kit doing nothing but good for a transmission.
Just because you ran 11's without a shift kit, doesn't mean your transmission is good either. People have ran slicks on a stock transmission, and others have shelled 4T65's with stock L36's...it's all about how you drive the thing.
I'm also sure your transmission settings aren't factory in the PCM, therefore...can also be harmful. Unless you have hard evidence backing this up, it is just that; an opinion.
Shift kits have dont nothing but help transmissions from what I've been around, along with bunping up line pressure and lowering the shift times in the trans tables. TQ management is another thing that when addressed can help plenty of problems as well.
Our transmission shift kit improves the shifting of any 4T65e. It works on the standard and HD versions of the transmission and can be installed in 2 hours. Shift kits can increase the chance of hard part failure but they do keep the clutches from slipping and burning. We do not recommend this kit for cars running 20" wheels
I'm think that 11 sec NOS powered GTP has tranny in it that was blessed by god.
Unless you are pulling that 11 from the back 1/8 you are straining the stock diff and trans to the point of blowing, which is also a strain on parts. I will agree, I have seen 13sec cars break stock parts but few 11s without aftermarket trannies. This whole arguement is based on you have a very fast car with a somehow track reliable trans that is known for failure with high TQ builds.
I call shenanigans on it. If your claiming it was done when new, freshly built when you put the cam and NOS kit on and then tracked it, that is believable, but I'd like to see it done again at 100k and you still argue it. Just doesn't happen.
