N/A 3.8 cutting power under load?

Was driving to work this morning doing around 60mph and my car just died on me I drive a 2006 Pontiac grand prix N/A 3.8 with 104000 miles on it.

I pulled over to the side of the road and started the car it started fine put it in drive and took off then the power started cutting in and out all the dash lights were going on and off as well. I tried flooring it and it opened up and ran up to about 65mph and cut off on me again. Luckily that was enough for me to coast into my work parking lot.

After I was parked I cranked the car and it idled fine for around 15 min then once I slammed the hood it died. I haven't got the engine light read yet does anyone have any ideas?

Simpliest thing first would be to check all your connections and make sure you don't have a loose wire somewhere. Find where you wires go into your fuse block and shake them around to see if it affects the way your ride runs. Kinda just sounds like a loose connection somewhere to me.

Need to bump this thread back up same thing happened to me this morning and it has a brand new battery. Would a bad alternator cause this?

With a bad alternator, your battery light would be on and I dought you would be able to restart after it dies. Have you checked to see if you have any loose wires?

Yes I've check for loose wires I check power and ground coming off of battery and the power going to the alternator. I put a code reader on it last night and of coarse if didn't have any codes. I pulled the alternator as well I'm going to run in by autozone today and have it checked.

It will crank and run but just cuts off randomly with no warning at all. The dome light seems to flicker while it's idling and I've shook every wire in the engine compartment with it running and had no luck.
