The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
He has a point. We warned you about this car from the start. I kinda wished you tried to pull the engine out the top. That would have been interesting.
Check the wiring.
BTW, the starter gets submersed in coolant when the head gaskets go after the bolts have their "normal" issues.
Aha LOL
But back on track do you think it's possible I got a new faulty crank sensor?
I also disconnected the battery overnight and i'll reconnect it after class. Doubt it will help but it's worth a shot.
As far as the wiring it looked fine when I was working, the little bit that you can actually see anyway. It's covered in high temp wrap since it's right by the manifold.
I should probably include this too since the cam sensor and crank sensors work together.
The car still has the P0340 for the cam sensor circuit. Could there be a correlation between these two codes and the car not wanting to run? It'd make sense. The PCM compares the CKP signal to the CMP sensor signal. But if the CMP is faulty then couldn't that be a direct cause of it not wanting to run since it can't find a correlation between the two?
Wiring shouldnt be an issue since it was flopped up on the windshield. But after class i'm gonna crawl back under there and check the wiring for the crank sensors and connectors. Gonna get some contact cleaner and spray them both. Then follow the wiring up past the manifold, around the coolant lines, then check the cam sensor/wiring. It MIGHT just be that it needs the cam sensor replaced. If it's totally gone and is "open" it'll throw a circuit code and not a sensor performance code.
It's amazing what a disconnected cam sensor will do. And how it got disconnected in the first place is waaay beyond me. But it's fixed. It still has the P0385. Ill have to take care of it next week since the temp is supposed to drop considerably the next couple days.
Couple little issues. Needs the air pump as said on the previous page. That's really about it. I plan in going through all the struts/mounts/LCA's etc etc in about 15K
i had 97 sts seville with the 4.6 and it was vin 9... loved it! she would get up and goooo!!! bought her for 400$ fixed a shift solenoid and sold for $2200 2 weeks later... great cars
