s/c and thorttle body paint

Matt Palm

WHERES THE LAMB SAUCE?!?!
ok so im taking suggestions on what color to paint my s/c and tb im thinking white to match the car but i feel it will get dirty to easily. i dont want red mainly becasue it will be over done then. finally should i use engine enamel or get them powder coated

I used high heat engine enamel... Check my car thread, the finished product is pictured there. Just clean the crap outta the thing and get all the gunk off first. Good prep goes a long way. Also the high temp paint goes on like water so many light coats are better than one heavy when trying to cover it all.

:)

I like white if you go the powdercoat route..but if your using engine enamel I would do either black or a nice gunmetal color. Depends on how much you want to spend honestly if you prep it correct engine enamel looks good.

i should probally do the valve covers and fuel rails since i will have it all pulled apart along with new plug wires

I was never a painted fuel rails type of guy I like the polish look on those. I say black blower and white valve covers.

Forgot that's the only option you have for your fuel rails ok...lets make it simple. Black blower, black VC and white dog bones and or white fuel rails.Your right I wouldn't overdo the white because if anything does leak or gets dirty you'll have to do more upkeep on it.

i already have red dog bones. im thinking black blower white rails. black valve covers white in the grooves

Good idea keep in mind you have to get the lines clean in the valve covers to have it look right if not then it'll look sort of half assed if you know what I mean but you could always go black if you had to.

White Supercharger/TB. Copper or Black fuel rails. White valve covers. Black LIM.

Don't be a ***** about cleaning your engine. Its not hard, I regularly wash under the hood when I hand wash the rest of the car. A good plastic bag tied over the air filter is enough to keep it from getting wet. Everything else is ok for a simple wash, don't flood it but spray cleaner, and rinse and done once the parts are painted and cured well. Do it.

I'd do mostly black with a few white accents like white SC ribs and white on the valve cover lines/indents.
