u shouldnt need a case relearn, Will said that u only need a case relearn if you get a check engine light. A well spent $170 thats including the core charge. I wanted to keep my old one for when i go turbo or s/c. I forget what shipping was but it took a while. About 2 weeks for me.
I always thought you needed a case learn on any 98+ cars unless you were putting the same pcm back in. I read this on the intense racing forum.
"The crankshaft position system variation learning feature calculates the reference period errors that are caused by slight tolerance variations in the crankshaft, the crankshaft balancer interrupter rings, and the crankshaft position sensor hall effect switches. The calculated error allows the PCM to accurately compensate for reference period variations. This enhances the ability of the PCM to detect misfire events during a wider range of engine speed and load conditions.
The crankshaft position system variation values are stored in the PCM non-volatile memory after a learn procedure has been performed. If the crankshaft position system variation values are not stored in the PCM, DTC P1336 will set. The learn procedure is required after the following service procedures have been performed:
PCM replacement
Engine replacement
Crankshaft replacement
Crankshaft balancer replacement
Crankshaft position sensor replacement
Any engine repair which disturbs the crankshaft or the harmonic balancer to crankshaft position sensor relationship. "
"You DO need to perform the Crankshaft Variation Learn procedure if you physically install a new PCM, replace the crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, crankshaft position sensor or balancer.
You DO NOT need to perform the Crankshaft Variation Learn procedure if you have new code flashed into your current PCM."
Not trying to contradict you bro just trying to put out as much info as I have on the subject. The only reason i havn't got a pcm yet is because I don't want to have to get a case learn every time I step up the modding or be without the car if I send the one I have in it out. I could be wrong but I just want to throw what i read out there, I have always had awesome luck with INTENSE.
