3.5" pulley

if you had say a completely stock engine, which according to what i can find, should run about a 14.9 if you hold your mouth just right... what should be an expected ET by adding only a 3.5" pulley? Thanks

3.8 = 6-7 psi

3.5 = 8-9 ish??

But you wouldnt want to do that, the cars exhaust is very restrictive from the factory. Needs headers or atleast a plog/downpipe to drop a pulley size. The car needs flow.
 


Ah, here it is... i remembered reading this article on ZZP a while back, but could not find it before making this post. I just found the "next" button that let me get to it. For every person with a Series II 3800 the SC pulley swap should be the first thing considered. It offers the largest HP/dollar value of any mod. You will need a special tool to do the install which can be bought or rented. Install time is about 1 hour. If this is the only mod you plan on doing then the 3.5″ pulley should be used. The stock belt can usually be used but we recommend the 4060658 belt or our oversized tensioner pulley. The 3.5″ pulley swap will give you ~20 additional HP.

ZZP has always been wrong with that "Qoute".

That info is so outdated its not even funny.

Car needs to breath before you can add air. If you just add more air, sure the car will take it, but will knock alot more and end up being slower and likely break something.

Read the safely modding your 3800 on this website, it has some semi good info that can help you.
 
LOL someone want some pulley swap to make it a racekar but if you pulley drop with no mods ur pcm is gonna be like CAPTIN IM GIVING HER ALL I GOT and your gonna be like whats that noise why is it still slow and the exhaust is gonna be like SHHHHHHHEEEES GONNNNNNNNA BLOW :)
 


Because ZZP wants you to buy their products, intense says the same thing as does wbody store and 3800performance, I had a 3.5 pulley headers and ported blower and still had kr on my car.
 
yeah, i guess that whole "truth in advertizing" thing threw me for a loop.

I know for profit companies "spin" the truth or tell you only one side of the story... but to straight up lie, thats a whole new level. Thats like those clowns in ebay selling "Chips" that add 600 hp and 100MPH for 9.99. ZZP is no better than those guys, eh? jeez, yeah, thats a hard one to digest.
 


Ok, according to your post, I think i will check out a set of headers, then do an aftermarket PCM, then a ported charger, then look for a 3.4 pulley, and thats probably about as far as i will want to go with this car. its just a daily driver, i want little more excitement, but not a full blown race car. Just something to suprise a few people is all. MAYBE i might want a set of those rocker arms down the road.

Pacesetters= 200.00 currently on ebay
DHP PCM= 125.00 currently on ebay
Ported Charger= 150.00 Currently on ZZP
3.4 Pulley= 99.00 Currently on ZZP

Total = 574.00 Not bad.
 
You can port your own blower if you got the tools, its pretty easy.

I wouldnt buy pacesetters. They are pretty bad.

Most people go with speed daddy headers off ebay. I'm not sure if they have them back in stock yet though, last I heard they were out.

Really? Maybe not the cheapest, but I've got the ceramic coated Pacesetters and they went in just fine, no bending the tranny stick, no problems with install whatsoever. I used the stainless step clamps as well and they are still together with no leaks!!! Pacesetters are a decent header as they offer some of the largest primary as compared to the SD's... It's all dependent on what you want from the car.

For ME they work perfectly... Now if cost is your only concern then go speed daddy...
