PC Belt Wrap Kit finally on the car....

For those of you that do not keep up with ClubGP. A guy on the forum (Sean Haas) has created and started selling belt wrap kits for us. Although there more geared for GenV guys, they will work on a Gen3 setup too with some minor work. My setup needed more though (manily hardware) due to my unique IC height and wanting to run a matching 6 rib pulley since I rub a 6 rib setup.

I for one have been waiting for a product like this for over a year now. Lets face the facts, the 8-rib setups only help so much. Many with smaller pullies have extensive belt slip 8rib or not. A few people have homemade kits and have been very sucessful on this platform. Cobra and Lightning guys use these with great success too. I was on the pre-order list through W-body Store to get there belt wrap kit. Since there deal fell through a couple months ago I had to find another solution. Luckily this popped up and I jumped in. Here are the pics...

Its made of aluminum and uses all stainless steel hardware. And its made to be customized for whatever kinda setup you use. I must say, I have one of the more unique IC setups around, and it worked pretty damn good for me.

Results? So far I don't have much. Alll i can say my MAF numbers are steady and I don't see any black dust yet. And i've driven my car all week too (installed this kit Saturday).

If your interested in one of these contact KYGTP on ClubGP or go to this thread... ClubGP Message Forum troubleshooting

Here is the ad on ClubGP he posted...

Here it is, what you have been waiting for!!!! I have 24 kits ready to go for the first run. You get everything that you see in the pic above, a Billet Alum, custom machined bar, Longer bolts to work with most all full size IC, 76mm Pulley with bolt and washer, a half twist Billet Alum strap with one hole for the Alt. bolt and a bolt and lock washer for the Strap. All bolt are stainless steel too.

Price is going to be $170 Plus shipping.

If you do not need the pulley, then the Price will be $158, I will included the bolt and washer for you though. Let me know what you want.

Paypal is [email protected] and any questions you can e-mail me at the same address.

Disclaimer: This kit does require you to measure and cut the strap to length and drill a hole for the strap to attach to the bar. Everyones setup is a little different, so I figured that it would be easiest for everyone to cut and drill their own. I will post up DETAILED instructions on how to do this, with pics for you.

Also, for all you Gen 3 Guys, this can work on your setup, but you need to grind/cut down the "rib" by the last bolt toward the snout, shown in this pic. The Bar sits right over that rib, the Gen Vs DO NOT have this rib.

Looks nice Shawn! Glad to see someone offer something like this again and is a needed product for most guys with smaller pullies.

I'm guessing you labelled the supercharger cuz your Honda friends didn't know what one looked like??? haha

Glad you guys like it! The pictures don't do it any justice, trust me.

Honda friends? I don't have any friends that drive Hondas, friends don't let friends drive rice. :th_rice::th_jester::th_jester:

looks nice, but i don't think i want to spend $170 for it. i think i'll stick with the over sized tensioner when i do ic. off topic, i like the plug wire bracket on top of the blower. where did you get it?

Shawn,

Thanks for posting your findings so far. Even with an oversized tensioner pulley I see about 7 kPa worth of slip with my 2.8 pulley. While not much in psi, it still makes for inconsistant WOT tuning.

One thought though. Would this not put a higher concentration of stress in a smaller spot. Kind of like being able to put your finger tip through saran wrap versus your open palm or walking normal versus walking on tip toes? Truely I don't have the answer, but merely making an observation.

I think my head just exploded trying to correlate WTF saran wrap and walking on your toes has anything to do with added surface area of the belt to rest on.

I see it carried over ROFLMAO

Of-course it's going to put more stress on a smaller spot, which as a result of that is going to cause it to apply more pressure down onto the pulley. Which is easier? Putting your finger through saran wrap or your whole, open palm, hand?

Shawn, it looks good, glad you like the kit. I have put up a post in the sale sections here, if anyone would like one;) Thanks for the comments, Guys.

It seemed to me that everyone kept talking about one comming out, but one never did. So, since I did a Gen V swap and was in need for one myself, that is when the gears started turning on the design. At least it was a "look"
to it and not just a peice of bar stock.

Hope you sell a few here Sean! I can't believe there so little demand for them. People have been *****ing for years to get these. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be highly desired in the future when there out of production.

Glad I have mine, been wanting one for quite sometime.
