Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

It's weird the personalities they can have. He would swim up against your finger when feeding time came around and would follow fingers around the tank. He was in a group of 3 others and he was the only one that lasted. Maybe in a few weeks I'll get the tank set up again and start over. I'm for sure disinfecting the crap out of everything in that tank tho. I would just start over, but gravel and all the plants are so expensive!

Sorry to hear about Ruby, Kolton. Oscar's are pretty fish!

I've read bleach, but make sure you rinse it really really well. But the most popular seems to be a boil water and let the stuff soak overnight and then dry out, sounds safest to me. The tank itself is 6 years old, but has been started up/cleaned/new fish in it several times. Teddy and this 3 years is probably the longest it hasn't been totally torn down and disinfected (I still did the frequent water changes).

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

Just got sprayed in the eye with 2+2, working on rebuilding my dad's snow blower's carb that had stale gas in it for 5 or so years. Sucked.

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

ive had pretty good luck with the life of fish, the last set of tanks i had, the 125 had two albino cats (iridescent sharks) when i got them they were 2 inches long, i had them for 10 years or more, i gave them away with the tank at the end they were a good 14 inches each.

i also got two angels at the same time they were quarter sized, they last 9 years or so. the tank was 16 inches tall the angel fish fins both hit the top and bottom of the tank their bodys were a good 5 inches round.

pic of 125 and one shark. also arrow my dog when he was maybe 4 months old, and the ex's kid.

I've got a back up toothbrush and toothpaste at work for events like this morning when I'm running late.
Well, I had brought a new little travel tube and opened it this morning. Go to start brushing and eewww! It was a kids cavity tube, gross! No wonder its hard to get kids to brush teeth.

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

30 mins til lunch, I'm thinking soup and grilled cheese sammichs. I may just cook some pasta tho, being a lazy day at work and it will likely carry over into my lunch. lol

Knock on wood, but I'm feeling so much better! My sinuses have finally decided to stop making my life miserable. Whooo!

And brick house is back in the running! Looking into contractors for brick work and meeting with mortgage lenders. Eeek!

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

Made some spicy pasta for lunch, cleared the sinus' a little, took some more meds and hopefully will make it thru this day at work. :th_depressed:

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

Got back from Charlotte Autofair today. Stayed over one extra day because I was so exhausted I was zoning out at dinner...just -o- out.

But it was a GREAT time. I'll have pics in the meet thread and stories and everything else and such. My head hurts today :(. Gotta go back to see the doctor asap. School and work resume tomorrow. I'm so sick of work. That bish of a manager. I have been written off the schedule for my bday this Saturday for months now. Well last minute she puts me on. I know what triggered it. But I could just toss her in a cement mixer.

Anyway, too tired to gather random thoughts. Can't wait for sleep in my waterbed. It's crazy after all these years that bed is what I miss most when I travel lol

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

Didn't know they made a nearly 100% manual stump grinder. Only thing it did on it's own was spin the grinding wheel.

Not the original motor, blew exhaust right into your face. Carbon monoxide btw gives you a headache in under 10 min.
Brake on the one wheel didn't work, adjusted it.
Kill switch on handle stopped working. Reattached the ground wire that broke
Muffler loosened up, tightened it 4 times
Muffler fell totally off. Handed out earplugs to the neighbors and keppppppppt on grinding.

Full refund for having such a pos. Not really worthwhile..37 stumps ground for the cost of a day and a half of my life. And I got a serious workout.
