Serious about the faster car, Not super fast like a lambo, re read what I post. It was a visual for who would read it. And I want it faster than most common cars since it is a SE, maybe fast like a gtp or a little more.

I want a Impala 2006 SS or BMW 3 Diesel 2009 since they run 400 sumn torque at 1700RPM's But those are not a car for right now since life has other plans

I knew it was a FWD, but don't know if 2006 will cut it since sooner I might want the 2014 Impala seeing the design but still don't know if the SS will be RWD for those. And this is a car to stay with for a while. Not like the pontiac i drive or not like one of those you stay with for a few months/years that you don't really mind. I started with the 03' Pontiac but want to buy a car knowing my pontiac is a SE and not really they top # car for most people, atleast not for me at the time.
 


If you want to make a car fast. Especially lambo fast. You can't start out with the slowest version they made of the car..... the 3100 should have never been put in GP's it's extremely underpowered. A 3800 will actually get better mileage than a 3100 because the 3100 gets lugged down so much. I'm not trying to rip on you here but without doing a swap to something else your car is only good for a DD

Not really offended since I also agree with you. But I'm glad you didn't misunderstood my message. A guy at work drives a honda '95 hatchback and that car runs fast, way faster then a BMW he raced. So that's what I was referring to. He said he got headers and some other things. But I was hoping to go toward a different kind of car to fix up and make it my offical car for a while.
 
Like others have said, drop in a low milege 3800, buy a turbo kit for it and built trans , you can do all that for under $5k . OR you can just drive the car as a DD and get a toy , along the lines of cars others have listed, or just go all out and buy a 2jz Supra Twin Turbo? or a Skyline ? But to expect a "fast" or even quick car out of a 4dr car with an under powered motor , is like expecting Megan Fox to just wonder up to your door, looking for a cup of sugar .... It Just Wont Happen lol

Look on Craigs list , you could even get yourself a nice Honda for cheap and slap a turbo on that and beat the majority of cars you see on the road daily, for cheap, or something awd like a wrx,sti,A4 or S4, Evo, GSX,TSI, ( Since you need a DD owning a DSM ) .

The path you decide to take is yours , just my :2cents: though .

An engine swap isn't even worth it tho. For the cost and headache to do an engine swap he could more easily sell the car he has and go buy a GP with a 3800. If he was gonna go thru the work of an engine swap he'd be better off swapping a 3800 into a lighter car like a Fiero.
 


Or, keep it simple, and put a Lambo engine in the GP? = Lambo fast GP.

Basically with the 3100 you have a turd. Yes it will drive, and will continue to drive, but that's about it.

Sell it. Buy a GT and turbo it. Source your own parts, read everything you can, and you'll save money.

IF you don't want to stay with a W-body, then get an LS1 powered car. They are fairly cheap, plenty of power, and easily modded.
