Problems with plugs/wires help

Timing

So last night i changed out my plugs and wires in my 04 comp g. The car has 89k miles and the way they came out and looked, can tell they were never changed. Anyway i finally got them out and put the new ones in and when i started the car the idle seemed kind of off so i got in and pressed the gas and its skipping a beat sort of, but not as if 1 cylinder wasnt firing. So i thought the wires somehow got mixed even though i did them one at a time. Rechecked firing order and they are all perfect, i even took out every plug and put it back in and made sure every wire was tight on plug and coil. So my question is i put in al 605s and al stock 7mm wires.
Now all i have is a cai and a 180 tstat and am planning on headers next week so am i just running to cold or is one of my plugs or wires bad. I was getting misfire on highway but when i went to scan it my scanner doesnt list the 5th vin for engine type. I dont have an aeroforce yet this is my next mod befor i start pushing the boost more. Should i just keep the 605s and get 606s for now and when i drop to a 3.5 go colder then?

Either you have a couple wires crossed..or you have a bad plug or two.
thanks bill ima just return the plugs swap them for 606s, also blue told me to gap them at .050, in my 2000 i gapped 606s at .055 and it ran mint. Whats your suggestion?

i did hear some rumers on here that autolights were starting to get bad quality maby its true if im getting bad plugs? if so maby something else is suggested

Stock..I'd go .055 You can go NGK TR55's.. those would be a decent copper core.
Sry bill i dont meen this in anyway denying your judgment, but what your saying is you think i should stay 1 heat range cooler cus you said stock but then listed ngk tr55's. which are 1 heat range cooler than stock right?

The factory AcDelco Iridiums are a 41-101 which shows a direct cross over to a NGK 5599 / ITR4A-15 plug.

But yes I think the TR55s are 1 heat range cooler, but it shouldn't have any adverse effects on your car at 1 heat range, especially if you plan to get headers, tune and pulley down a little. Alot of people on here run the basic supporting mods and use the TR55s so you should be ok. If your still having problems tho you may consider the plug wires.

By the way, silly question but we HAVE seen it before, you didn't happen to glob up the plug booties with dielectric grease did you? Seen people use too much and it caused similar problems. Just making sure.

no but there is some kind of grease i noticed in the boot already cus when i pulled the plug the second time it came out on the tip, i didnt use anything for the plug threads, should i?

I wouldn't. some suggest anti-sieze but I just roll them in and torque a little and don't worry about it. They're spark plugs not head bolts, they don't need a torque wrench or breaker bar to tighten them down, despite what some people have said.

A little in the boot is fine, helps keep the tip from rusting or corroding and helps keep a good connection so you get good spark. you just don't want so much that it kills the contact.

well they came like that so maby they had to much from factory?

Eh I wouldn't think so, if you think there is too much get a couple Q-tips and you can get some of it out. I bet the problem lies elsewhere tho.

im betting its the plugs im just gonna grab some tr55s like bill said and if the problem remains switch out the wires, i meen the car ran great befor

what do you mean dead plug, was it smashed or missing parts?

or cracked porcelain? the white part on the outside of the engine.

it was no good as in did not work, aka defective

kind of funny cus i was hearing rumers about autolights starting to be really poor quality i even asked my buddy at advanced if hes heard or seen anything like this the day i bought the plugs. He was laughing when i came back in and one was no good
