Modified MAF

I am purchasing a modified "unlimited" stock MAF and throttle body. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do I need a different MAF table to run this?

The modified MAF removes the ceiling of 11500 hertz so you can techincally flow as much air as you want through it...
 


apparently he has a MAF that is modified so it has no 11.5kHz ceiling, which means he can have it flow to whatever he wants and be able to have the PCM understand the amount of air that is being ingested.

i want to know how he did it.
 


You can build a stock maf that greatly reduces the amount of air it reads, which in turn makes it very hard to reach that 11.5k hrz range. Its not "unlimited" but I can say I have never seen much more than 10.5k on any of the modded mafs I have built on 20+psi.

Trade accuracy and data points for increased limits?
 


Couldn't you install a stock MAF backwards and achieve the same result? Less air would hit the element which would give you more MAF ceiling. Just thinking out loud.

The stock MAF is from 1500 to 11500Hz with calibration every 125Hz. If you are not modifying the sensing capability, but are simulating a higher ceiling, then you're increasing g/sec spacing.
 
What does the LQ4 or other GM mafs max at? I guess this should be answered in lb/min or g/s compared to the stock one.
