What are all of the identifying characters of a true Daytona pace car. I've found one a guy is claiming was on a track. All the decals on outside have faded. It has cut outs in spoiler where whelen lights appeared to have once been...Also has true Daytona wheels. I didn't see the inside other than through the windows. Didn't see any emblems or stickers. Interior looked like any other gtp. Car is gulf blue. Def looks like a pace. Kicker is it only has 31k on it. Has been sitting under a tree for years due to the guys son hooking up a radio and killed all electrical inside car. Wheel well and struts are clean as hell. Rotors are full of cancer. So I know its been sitting for awhile. I'm going back to hear it crank and run and pick this car up regardless this week. Gettin it for a ridiculously cheap price.

Um, well I dont really know all the exact info on true pace cars, but if it has the lights (or spots for them) and some decals saying its a pace car then I'd say its pretty legit on it being real. To my knowledge you cant buy those exact decals the lights, so pick it up for the uber cheap price and drive it.
 
Haha yea I've been around. It doesn't have the roof lightbar on it. But does definitely have cutouts in spoiler where sombut e used to be. Here's a pic. It's filthy but a lil finger rub in various places showed nice clean paint. I have him at 1200 right now. I want it cheaper. And will prob get it cheaper when I point out all the "high cost repairs" rotors are beyond repair the rust is so thick. No other rust anywhere. It's a southern car, really lookin forward to gettin this thing.

31k!!!!! It's mostly pollen and grime from sitting for 2 years. I got the man down to 1200. My goal is 800.
 
thats crazy! dont walk away if you cant get him lower, but its worth it to defiantly try and talk him down!
 
I think the actual pace cars had roof spoilers with lights under them too. I know a guy that has both roof and trunk spoilers with lights off a pace car.
 
i think its just the 98 daytona 1 of 1500 car still worth the money if the thing only has 31k thats super low
 
its a gp. therefore, it has no collectors value what-so-ever. proof? all those richard petty editions people want 20k for and never sell.
 


I've seen pics of official track car. I know they had the roof bars and lights in spoiler. It has cut outs in the spoiler where it looks like the lights used to sit. Maybe removed the roof bar. Would be epic if he had it in the garage. I've only emailed the guy and went and looked while he wasnt at home. Hopefully have some more info soon.

I know as far as sale value to the average Joe.. I'm a die hard prix head. I'll restore it and ride til the wheels fall off. To me this is the best find for me ever. Lol
 
it may have value in years to come if you have it for 30+ more years in good condition with low miles you never know, i know its only a grand prix but there is no telling what the future will be like with cars and there values. not saying it will but know one knows what car value will be like in years to come
