Overall basics are the same for most vehicles. Stock plugs, stock wires, etc are fine. Make sure the car is up to date on maintenance like the plugs and wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil, etc. Keep the tires inflated all to 35 psi and check weekly.

But most of all, drive slow. Leave 5 minutes earlier and drive the speed limit. This is the one that most people don't want to do. They want to find a miracle cure or miracle part to put on their car and get better mileage. But the largest factor is driving style. Take off slow from stop signs, drive the speed limit, try to anticipate what is ahead to minimize how much you need to slow down, and coast whenever possible to stop signs, red lights, and down hills.

yea i agree, driving haves alot to do with it. she says she drives as slow as she can. but i dont think she really thinks about conserving gas when shes driving. my aunt does about the same amout of driving (6 miles less) and she uses about a little over half a tank less than my mom in a week. she has an 06 camry with the v6. she problew just has better driveing habits tho.

i was thinking about maybe a tornado for the intake. idk. she might be getting a tunner tho so i can try and tweak some gas milage out of it :) heck yea ive been wanting one so i could use it on the gtp!!!

First, those tornado things suck. Don't waste your money. And a tuner is okay, but you are hard pressed to get your money back out of it. And I don't know of any tuner that will work for the GP as well as a PT.

Just read this the other day and thought there was some good information it. Much better than I typed out.

Firestone Complete Auto Care - Jump At the Pump

All those tips are excellent and right on track. And just remember, there is no part that is a miracle part. Nothing will improve your mileage more than changing your driving habits and keeping your car well maintained. End of story.

ahhh i thought tunners worked on all cars of newer models. guess not :) and great link. lots of helpfull info. i guess she just need a good tune up, make sure her tires are properly inflated and balanced and thats about all. try and get her into better driving habbits. thanks man
