What did you do to your Car today?

Drove it to a friends place to party for the night. Now it sits outside all sad and lonely that no ones driving it now.
Really starting to worry I might need a new trans. Kinda hearing some noise from it I think. Little crazy on the rpm shifts. Just love to hang out inbetween way too long IMO. And noticed a slight slip from rev to d even if 100000% stopped.

I might have to be like Dan and try and find a part car LoL engine and trans swap. Except I'm poor and 04+ cost more lol

It's nice to have parts laying around when you need them. I hope to not have to swap my trans for a while but at least i'll have one when i need it.

Swap out my lights for a set of resurfaced lights I bought from a forum member. Mine will get a really good wet sand in the fall and put back on.

the wet sanding won't work. i bought a sanding kit for my stock headlights and nothing changed. i asked around and it turns out the headlights on the 04+ gp's have issues with water getting into them when they go through car washes. I always wash my car myself, but the previous owner (my aunt) took it through car washes all the time. so the water gets into the headlights and fogs them up from the inside. all that stuff that you think are scratches on the surface and can be sanded off is actually water damage on the inside of the headlight.

Wet sanding will work. My car has been through car washes many times and I have never had a fogging issue. When you can literally feel the scratches on the outside, then wet sanding will fix the issue. I have fixed other headlights before with the wet sand method.

his headlights look exactly how mine did. i tried wet sanding and it got the scratches off great. but i am almost positive that he has water damage on the inside of the headlights. i would say 90% chance that he has water damage and he won't be able to fix them completely, 10% chance he does not have water damage and they will turn out ok

You stated that headlight fogging was a common issue, which it is not. His headlights look a lot like mine, and mine are definitely not fogged on the inside. My cousin did a quick polish on them and they looked good again until the polish wore off.

I've seen fogged headlights and I've seen scratched/sun damaged headlights. Judging by the pics his are not fogged.

if you can find where i said it was a common issue then hats off to you lol. i just said it was a known issue. and i still disagree. the odd shapes on his passenger side headlight are what lead me to believe his headlights are fogged from the inside.

Mine didn't leak, Just sun damaged, The odd spots you see on them are from the Meguiars Kit that I attempted to use and failed. I plan on baking them to spit them in two and go to town wet sanding.

Ask and ye shall receive.
