im needing an oil change and want to know whats the best filter to get?

ive seen a link that has a whole bunch of filters that were tested and showed what the best brands were and filtered the most but i cant find it so if someone knows where its at or which filter to get let me know please.i use Valvoline max life 10w-30

Otherwise, I've always ran a ACDelco PF52 on my cars...because its bigger than the PF47 that is factory.

But your lower mounts have to be in stout shape, or the 52 will get crushed.
 
this will be a never ending debate, just like what oil to run. no 100% solid data and everyone has opinions.
 


I just get the synthetic oil special at AAP. I usually grab it when they have the castrol/k&n filter combo.
 


according to what was taught at my school, K&N, Mobil 1, and Napa Gold filters are the premium filters. they filter the most contaminants.

My opinion wix is the best because it has the nascar logo on the side of the box. lol. I just trust them because i had a truck turn 300k and all that was ever ran in it was wix filters and valvoline oil. so thats what i go with. Supposedly wix will capture the smallest mircrons of contaminants or something also. Just heard that somewhere tho. dont take my word for it.

i left that one out, WIX is also among the top tier filters
 


GM Truck Central Oil filter Gradesheet Gives you a good idea of what a good filter is but you gotta look at what grade it got in each column because stuff like the grade for price doesn't matter to some people. If you really care about your car your gonna pay a few extra dollars. And each column is weighted differnently so its still not a perfect grade system.
