Hey,

I bought a 2005 grand prix gtp comp-g a few months ago and finally noticed i have no up shift indicator light when in manual mode. It does not show up on the HUD or dash or DIC. Ive tried turning the HUD off to see if it would show up than but nothing. Is this a feature that might of been turned off by the previous owner?

you can go higher the 4k man just keep it under 6k to keep you motor safe

im pretty sure it will shift before it redlines even if it is in 1st gear, i know my car did. i dont use manual shift i just tried it out before for the hell of it, i have performance shift so thats good enough for mr lol. as for the light goes i never even knew there was one. maybe thats for the 04+ models or comp g's im not sure

Yes its an auto, it has tapshift. I dont use manual to drive i just use it to mess around now and then. I read this in the manual and thats when i realized ive never seen a shift indicator.

"The up-shift indicator light
on the instrument panel
cluster, or the up-shift
symbol on the Head-Up
Display (HUD), if equipped,
is given as a prompt to
use the TAP-Shift ™
paddle.
The up-shift indicator light will only appear in the
instrument panel cluster if the HUD is off or if the
vehicle does not have HUD.
This prompt to up-shift, as needed, will be given
throughout acceleration. If up-shifting does not occur
when prompted, the vehicle speed will be limited
to protect the engine."

I know i can rev higher than 4k in first gear but thats not the point. Im just wondering why i dont have a shift indicator light on in the HUD or dash.
