S/C Belt issues?!

I recently ported my blower and put everything back on, but the other day it threw a belt off going down the road. Went to Advance auto, got a new belt only to get home and the dang thing wont fit! It's the factory belt i've used on my 3.5 setup with the 3.5 tensioner pulley, but now it seems its not long enough. What could be the issue?! The factory belt was a Dayco 665.

You sure its routed correctly?

Well, the belt I got was too short (mind you it had 665 on the label). took it to autozone and compaired and it was shorter then it should have been. So now the belt fits, but its burning up the belt (rubber in the grooves of the S/C pulley and grooved idler pulley). I took both the 3.5 idler pulley and the grooved pulley off to see if thet were seized. The 3.5 idler pulley was shot and so was the grooved idler pulley. Would this be the cause of it eating the belt up and causing it to "walk" off of the crankshaft pulley?

I replaced the 3.5 idler pulley, now to head to the local junk yard where a freshly wrecked GTP is sitting. Gonna grab the gooved pulley off of it. I do have one question.... On the back of the grooved idler pulley, is there a plate, washer or something that keeps you from over tightening it to the block itself?

Definitely. If the pulley isn't moving you're going to have some problems. They are easy to replace though.

Here is that I mean by this...

I saw on the GTP and GS that was in the junkyard yesterday that there seems to be a machined peice on the block for the pulley to go against. As you can see from the pics above, there isnt anything on my SS?
