Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Can't turn the car off but still have the radio play

Most cars have a feature where you can turn the key backwards to turn the car off but keep the radio playing. I've been trying to do this for the longest with my GP. I had a Monte Carlo a while back where I could do this with no effort but this car...just doesn't seem to want to do it. I can only turn the key back far enough to take the key out the ignition which keeps the radio playing for a about 10 minutes before it shuts off.

I tried different things like pressing the brakes while turning the key back. Worked once but afterwards never worked again. I can't think of anything else I can do. Maybe the ignitions just messed up...

Its annoying that it dings like a mofo when the door is open when listening to the radio with the car off. There needs to be a way to kill that feature.

Over on the 3000GT/Stealth forums we have what we call the "buzzkill mod." Its called yank the damn door buzzer out. That was one of the first mods I did to my Stealth. I was working on my cousin's Stealth a few weeks ago and did the mod to his car because it was pissing me off.

Some GM cars have the door digger in a module, you have to open up the module and disconect the speaker so it doesn't mess with other systems/functions... not sure on the GPs though.

Close the door latch with the door open, that's what I do. Just make sure to open it with the handle again before you close the door, otherwise you'll slam the closed latch.

And you think running the radio on your Monte one click back didn't run the battery? Its the EXACT same thing. Accessory is one click forward on these cars. Older cars is one click back.
Its not the exact same thing. One click back and i get just radio and windows. one click forward i get like 10 dash lights, an active pcm (that i can pull codes from) and a primed fuel pump. one click forward uses more battery then one click back

moving on, since you said you were able to do it at least once before, i'd guess the switch is the issue. it should require minimal effort with no extra step (like pressing the brake pedal) to turn the key backwards. Unless you're wheel is pressed right up agaisnt the steering wheel lock; then you might try turning it the opposite way just a tad then turning the key backwards..

In the case of my 07 it is the exact same thing, I can go take a video to show you one click forward will give me just radio.

my 97 used to do this, i would jiggle it and turn and it would work everytime

I figured it was different because one click back never caused ^this to happen.
I guess I should have mentioned the year though. I have a 99.' And I'm assuming the switch is the issue because the brake thing doesn't work anymore. (It just worked that one time,) I've tried pushing the key in, still doesn't work. Turning it forward then back with no luck. So I'll just have to get it looked at because it seems to work when it wants to.

Well, turning it forward then back wont work. Just push the key in as you would if you were going to start the car. Push it in further and turn it back.
