Venom Coolers (intercool your snout)

Yea, I figured you were talking about that post.....

So I'm very interested to see comparative tests done........

As said before, for HP gains, the temp of the case or snout is irrelevant. The correct test for this would be to test intake air temps in the LIM.....do one baseline with no cooler....then do one with snout cooler as a stand alone unit. Do one with just a plate intercooler, and then do one with both snout and plate coolers.

Also, to show some improvements in snout oil temp.......u should do a comparative of oil temp. Without a cooler and with a cooler. The outside of the snout might be significantly cooler bc you test it right near the cooling coils. But an oil temp reading doesn't lie.

Re: Vemon Coolers (intercool your snout)

I promise that testing will be done. It will not be tomorrow. Or Tuesday for that matter. It will be within the month but everyone needs to understand that Stieges is a small operation and customers come first and the shop right now is super busy. Actually he's considering taking on some extra help to keep up with the demand from new customers. Stlmo_gtp and I are helping to make this happen and trust me as soon as these are ready the cars will be strapped to the Dynojet and we'll get some before and afters. I suggest anyone interested in one of these to wait until we get the prototypes on and tested but you can call his shop for more info if you just can't wait.

THESE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO REPLACE THE INTERCOOLER. They are ideally to work in conjunction with an intercooler. The stand alone unit is designed to cool the front drive only. It may help IAT's but I seriously doubt that it will have any significant impact other than to keep the blower cool and prolong bearing and seal life. It may be a total waste of time and money, but that's hot rodding IMO.

And I do want to say, even the cynics are helping us to consider thinking from different angles and some excellent suggestions have been made regarding the testing and what you all want to see. Opposing opinions help keep us honest and see what you guys think are important and not so important so Thank You for even looking at what we're doing. In the end we're all car guys and hot rodders and I've had a lot of fun and learned a lot from success's and mistakes :th_peaceout:.

You're welcome! lol

I'd like to give a big round of applause to all the sheep that blindly supported this snake oil salesman.

Its funny to see the people that questioned this "mod" get flamed, yet this guy is a deadbeat.

i don't get it the price vs what it actually does is almost short of just calling it a scam

don't fix what isn't broken

Id rather spend that money for some overdrive gears so I can keep a larger pulley for more belt contact

Re: Vemon Coolers (intercool your snout)

I have a hard time understanding why people would see this as a viable mod in the first place also. Yea, it will cool the fluid down somewhat, but we don't blow through couplers, fluid, or gears, so why the concern that we have to extend their lifespan?

Re: Vemon Coolers (intercool your snout)

i read like 15 different threads
and one of the guys actually tested it

the snout was cooler but not the case. so he said it was pointless

Re: Vemon Coolers (intercool your snout)

Yeah kind of hard to overcome Boyle's law on 100's of cfm of air when your only cooling less than a quart of oil.

Could you please provided a link to the thread that shows this information?

If it just cools the snout, and not the case which is what needs addressed...then I'm still not seeing any beef...and I know I'm a broken record here.

And really...back up this guy and after reading all the bad crap on Modular Ford's...I'm not taking sides but man, what a load of sh1t from this Stieg mess...on multiple boards as well.

Also, look at it this way...$400+ for something that yields zero gains...or spend that $400~ on something that is proven to work. Put your money where it counts, not in something that just "apparently" works that no one has really seen first hand.

You buy your Snout Cooler, I'll buy a Devil's Own Meth Injection Kit, save myself enough money for a good steak dinner and some beers...tune it and go plenty faster...and who cares about blower life when you're modding a dying platform, a GenIII M90 costs maybe $50 to rebuild, and you can buy them readily available on Craigslist or at junkyards that just need a coupler and a fluid change for...$80~.

This thread keeps getting better, and the pot keeps filling up with bullsh1t.

Re: Vemon Coolers (intercool your snout)

Be sure and tell people their 2 sets of bearings in the snout are no longer lined up perfectly and they could end up failing prematurely. There's not a chance in hell you can put that much weld on it and not warp that sucker! No telling how much it's warping.....

If you guys really want to believe followers of a guy that says such things that is fine but 2 key things 1. there are not 4 bearings in the snout 2. anyone that knows how to properly weld can do it without warping the snout. I mean really if you want to know more about stig. i would read all post and read what posi and the guys that back him say just like the lightweight rotors posi claims that there are knots in the rotors
