Maxed Out = BS

Okay first me start by saying prior to this current Grand Prix I had an R/T Charger that would max out at about 140, also I read about Mike AKA Mr. Angry's Fusion maxing out at 111 in a blog on CarDomain which made me even more pissed.

So last night on my way to work (empty highway late at night) and my first time driving my new Grand Prix in the highway without my dad I tried to max it out, and let me tell you how disappointed I was. It would go up to 109 mph, rev up for a half a second and go down 4-6 mph than slowly back up, I was very angry. I was temporary driving other cars (older Mazda's, Infiniti's and Honda's) and they would go over that. The latest was a 98 Honda Accord with a four banger that would hit 120, I'm very very disappointed with this, any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

Street, how would you rate a overkill PCM to a Intense PCM?

I wouldn't rate it at all. I've never had personal experience with a Overkill PCM.

However I can say I've always liked my Intense PCM and have never had a problem with it, and judging from what everyone says the OverKill PCM is also a great choice.

There's too many words that I don't understand, which one of those things do I need to mark those little bubbles?

Performance Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

So that one is bad for a 2004 GT?

All you need to do is under the 'Vehicle' option select 'Grand Prix' and then right below that where it asks for your year model select the year you own and you'll get the PCM you need.

The other stuff I can't really help you with too much since I don't know your personal preference.

I dunno about the w-body store PCM's...I wouldnt get one from them...

Intense is nice though to have all those options available if you go intense, like multiple choices of ignition timing, and whatnot

I've had the Intense, Overkill and ZZP PCM's. Overkill is by far the best. The Intense one was ok, and the ZZP was terrible. Nice thing about the Overkill PCM is that he asks you for a list of your mods, how you drive the car etc and custom builds the tune.

Send him an email. He is also a vendor here. :: Overkill Motorsports ::

Am I the only one here with concern over going 109 on a public road, let alone 140?

This "public road" is literly empty at the time I get home from work, it's about a three mile stretch of highway that nobody uses. The 140 was tested on French Road, and if your around here you'd know about that.

So the intense one is my best bet? Just out of curiosity does anyone know how to go about installing one of these?

Probably so, yeah.

And it's very easy to install. It's located inside of your airbox. Just simply take that apart and there are two (7mm, I think) bolts holding the connectors onto the PCM itself. Just take them off, pull the old, install the new.
