how can i make my car sound loud but good?

i see so what do you guys think? 2 non chambered mufflers and no res, i want a rumble maybe a little drone

keep a resonator/glasspack in the system, seriously.

and non-chambered mufflers are a good choice, stick with those.

you're on your way to a mellow setup which most of us have learned to like over the straight pipe/resonator delete/flowmaster setups out there that people THINK they like.

the longer the glasspack, the quiter it will be btw. keep a glasspack but if you want some noise then go for a shorter one IMO

Zzp cat less downpipe, a short glass pack in place of the factory one then two borla xs pro, They sound pretty BA. Really low rumble and don't sound too bad at WOT like magna flow or flow master. With the magna flow 2 1/2 and the flow master 40's and 44's the rumble is okay but around 3300 rpms the sound just goes to hell.

If you don't put a resonator in that thing.

Well, then I'll just apologize for anyone that has to listen to it.

Listen to ffdp hes not blowing smoke up your ass. And go on YouTube and listen to peoples crappy exhaust.
I think you were thinking of spintechs cam.

There is not really a way of making the car load and sound good unless you cam your car and make a custom exhaust setup like zpp did for their drag car.

I love these threads someone posts about doing something with their exhaust and everyone says NO but they still insist on doing it, then when they do they come back and say well that was a dumb idea.

right now i have stock headers, a cat, no res just pipe and 2 brand new stock mufflers. i just cant have this though its kinda raspy and quite just not what i want at all. i want a good rumble kinda loud mostly badass sound. what combination of resonator or muffler or both will get a sound like this? please no "put a v8 in it" or "lop off the mufflers" i get that enough from the guys around here (im the only one with a V6)

i have speed daddy headers (catless), slp catback, and im not a fan, i bought a 30" glasspack to kill the rasp, so hopefully i dont loose hearing lol

what do you guys think of doing a res then a cut out then stock mufflers?

Piaf you just cut out the res it's gonna sound really raspy and pop like a backfire when you revv it. If your gonna do something like that put a glass pack in place of the res so the note that comes out the mullets is louder but you don't get the super raspy sound. With the glass pack res it'll make the exhaust overall louder but the mufflers will still keep it sounding decent.

no guys i cant leave it the way it is its to damn quite it really pisses me off, my buddy has a fire bird with the 3.8L in it and he has cutouts they sound awesome

you can get a glass pack for for less than that at the local parts store, i got a 32 inch for $22

and the cut out, are you going to the track? or just want to make noise?

RWD Exhaust setup > FWD Exhaust Setup.

Your car won't sound like his 3.8 Firebird.

Even with cutouts.

Which also, you only have one...and they are worthless they...shortout, stick open/closed...and are in no way shape or form a worthwhile way of spending money on your car.

For one, it's N/A...so it isn't fast, or quick...and another...a loud FWD 3800 doesn't sound good. Here's a suggestion...

Catless Headers...$175~ from Turbo Kits, Turbo Manifolds, Import Performance Products, SSAutochrome Inc.
Glasspack from your local autoparts store, say...$30
Mufflers, something that doesn't RASP...think...Borla, SLP, Corsa, Dynomax Super Turbo's...$50+...

That will make it plenty louder without breaking the bank, giving you more performance, increase MPG's, and still SOUND DECENT...and not crappy.

And to make the intake side louder...Toss a cone filter on the end of the Throttle Body.

But seriously, read and research...like the link in my signature.

Trying to help you, but you gotta listen to people who know and who have been there and done that and knows what works and what doesn't.
