Probably wrong forum but I thought it would be a nice Tidbit.

Had this old truck for a long time, Finally killed it this last july. After using it for multiple vehicle recoveries in mud, snow and ice. It had dropped dead pulling into my shop one morning. So I just parked it, Dug out my 400$ 99 GP SE that I had made a post about restoring and titled it.

I left it sitting till now. A little more history on it, I bought it with 160K Miles on it. It had previous head gasket work, I drove it for about 15K miles before I got a nasty rod knock. Caught it soon enough and threw some new rod bearings into it. A weekend and a case of beer later it was back on the road.

Now at 229K She dropped dead, No compression/Low compression across the board.

A older guy I know has a mutual busniness with Chryslers and is Letting me have the motor out of a 97 CHrysler Voyager, Only 55K miles on it. Freebies are awesome! Rest I will need to get is a Montero Oil pump to put the filter on the front of the block instead of the side and swap over my oil pan/Lower and upper intakes/fuel rails.

So Heres the damage.

So anyone got any ideas for a color scheme on the engine? valve covers, upper and lower intake, brackets etc?

Re: Teardown of my Mitsubishi Montero! 3.0 Fixed Pics

Engine is already **** brown from this clay mud we have around here... Haha, The older ones are allright. I just dont like the newer ones at all. too cheaply made it seems.

Got the old block out of the truck and checking it over/cleaning it up. Going to pressure-wash and paint the engine bay. Thinking true dual exhaust out in front of the back wheels.

Well, I was close. Mitsubishi calls for a 123456 Firing order. I went by that. I should have went off the chrysler version of the firing order. The cams are Different in the term that 3 and 6 are swapped. so it was 126453
