well my gtp needle bearings are bad and my s/c makes a grinding noise i already replaced the snout, coupler, rotors and case with a different one so i assume its the needle bearings im not really sure, you guys would know more. i was just curious cause the grinding sound starts to get annoying after awhile its at its worst when its in drive and stopped but you can still here the noise when its in park. i took off my belt just to see if it was the s/c and while it was idling without the belt it sounded fine.It will run way rich WOT. Other then that it will run about the same. No point to do it tho.
my idler pulley is actualy bad and i have the pulley to replace it now i think of it. i just never got around to it you think that could be it?I would check you're idler pulleys, if you've basically replaced everything in the SC.
you sure? cause the air fuel ratio wont let to much fuel into the engine? i wont be beating on it i don't think ill do it but i might if the idler pulley doesn't solve the problem till i get needle bearings.ya its fine as long as youre not beating on it or anything...
might get better mpgs too
I must own that magical GTP. When I pulled the S/C belt off I drove it that way for 6 months. Went WOT plenty of times and the **** never broke. Was piss slow and that's about it. Has anyone actually blown up their car or something doing that? Or are you guys stating don't go WOT cause you actually don't know?
Very well could be it, once you remove the s/c belt...the idler and tensioner pulley are no longer running either. Swap it out and see if the noise disappears.my idler pulley is actualy bad and i have the pulley to replace it now i think of it. i just never got around to it you think that could be it?
im gonna swap them out tmro and ill let you know how it turns outVery well could be it, once you remove the s/c belt...the idler and tensioner pulley are no longer running either. Swap it out and see if the noise disappears.
