Where can I buy Headers and Exhaust?

So its time to upgrade Lil Blackys Exhaust. But the shop that I want to go with cant get the parts for me so I need to know the best route in getting my parts. Here are my goals

I want a simple Header, and a cat back exhaust system. Thats it, im really looking to just open her up delete the U and give her a better sound. Im open to alot of different options, Borla, Flowmaster, whathaveyou. I just want the simplest and most direct way of ordering my Headers, and my exhaust and then have these guys install them for me.

Overview: This is my daily driver, and I am more excited by the MPG gain then I am by any HP gain (although HP gain doesn't hurt) I just wanted to replace my stock system to make it look better (pipes) and sound a lil throatier and flow better.

As always help is greatly appreciated thanks! :th_thumbsup-wink:

Check the header and manifold thread for headers.

Catbacks are a waste of money since you're stock.

But some mufflers and slap them on.

Dont bother replacing the resonator with a glass pack.

They're the same thing.

And it's a 4+ hour job to install the headers.

There's not much to make our exhaust sound nice, but I do like the sound of borla mufflers on our cars.

I hear ya on the exhaust aspect, but my car was rear ended so I gotta replace them anyways and I figured I would replace them with something a little better then stock. I just wasn't sure is you guys had much luck buying this stuff online or looking for a parts dealer locally

Im leaning towards Borla, since I hear alot of good things on the forum about them. As far as headers go I figured speed daddy if I had to buy them online, something cost effective.

they're not that cost effective.

They're $400 after fixing them, even then, they may not align 100% with your heads.

More if you need a cat (80), upwards of 200 for a quality cat.

talk to bill.

Unless they've changed some things, they're still not perfect.

Namely there is no perfect header for our application.

Those would be the cheapest 1.75" Primaries you'll find in headers. You're looking at some welding work, and purchasing a cat if you want it. Might be sealing issues without RTV.

Ok cool, ill go with these. I emailed Will at Overkill cause I want to get a tuned PCM so that once everything is installed I get max economy and performance. Any heads up on that before I buy the PCM?

3800Performance is where I'd buy a canned PCM tune...its a DHP PCM...best mail order tunes ever for this platform.

As well, the link in my signature has TONS of info you'd be looking for.

youd probably be better off with a front plog and downpipe unless you have plans to further mod the car.

After fixing them? SD headers? I thought these were fine with new clamps and copper rtv. This might change my plans if its true.

Well I started to talk to Will and he has been very helpful

My long term goal is to just squeeze out as much performance with with just Intake (open cone) and the Header, and exhaust. And thats about it @swiggles im not familiar with front plog. I dont mind paying for headers if that is gonna give me the best long term performance. I just know that everyone on here wants to eliminate that down pipe or U bend, whatever it is that makes out current set up so restricted. I love these cars this is my 3rd GTP and I plan on driving her until the wheels fall off.

Flex leaks, U bend bothers some people.

Fix those two items and it could be as little as the cost of flex or as much as $200 if you pay a shop to do it.

Will isn't about squeezing power out of your car.

He's about making it a safe and fun daily.

Yeah thats what I want with the tune, I just meant I want make this thing as efficient as possible with just a few mods since its not reaching its full potential now with the current exhaust so I can get the best MPGs and just general daily driving performance

if you get the 2.5" aluminized catback like i did from zzp and you do the ported exhaust manifolds like i did from zzp you probably wont gain any gas milage. if anything you will lose gas milage. however the tradeoff for power was worth it for me. I went with the magnaflow mufflers and resonators and it quite a bit louder than stock.
