@115 Engine Cuts out

So i few weekends back i was on my way back from Chicago and hit a nice straight away and no one was around so i figured lets have a little fun so it gets up to about 115 mph and then the engine just cuts out and dopes it down. would this be due to a stock pcm ? has anyone else had this happen ?

Yup, stock PCM cuts the injectors when it reaches the speed limiter. Can be very dangerous to your engine. No fuel can = Knock. Knock can grenade your pistons. So yeah, I wouldn't purposely hit the speed limiter if I were you until you get a different PCM or a tune.
 
ON a GTP the fuel cutoff is 126....however, somewhere in the tables there is a High MPH threshold for spark cut off. and I think it's 112-115mph.

Yeah, so somewhere in there. I didn't memorize the stock PCM, I just changed it. 255mph here I come!!! haha...

IIRC I think it's in the spark tables under high mph threshold or something. I don't have the tuner with me....and I'm too lazy to go get it. LOL
 


Haven't tested mine since I removed the limiter, but other L36s similar to me can hit high 130s pretty easy. Not sure if any of them have ever straight up maxed it out. My speedo goes to 140 so I want to lay it over hard one day. Just once. :cool:
