i posted about this awhile back, and due to some other things that came up, i put the fuel pump on the back burner... well I got burned... the fuel pump isnt priming anymore, so car no start anymore.

for you chicagoland peeps, is anyone around this weekend that could help me change out the pump in my work parking lot? I've got tools...

the car is in Des plaines....

gimme a shout, i'll need to get this fixed ASAP!

thanks!!

I read this thread earlier this morning, and was thinking how trusty my fuel pumps been. I hopped in my car this morning and all it did was crank. Looks like you and me both have a fuel pump issue:(. I for sure have a fuel issue as their is no pressure at the rail. I'm checking a few other things before I drop some coin on the pump.

yeah that does kinda bite, eh. though i cant complain much... the original pump went 189K miles. Got the pump swapped out yesterday with some help from a guy on the local GP forum. It does look like i need to swap out the fuel tank pressure sensor on the new pump though (it's the other electrical plug on top) as it's reading low tank pressure, and someone on the regal forums bought the same brand pump as I did (Master), and had the same issue, so swapped on the one from the old pump and it fixed it, so i just have to pull the cover and swap the sensors, which can be done without removing the pump again.

you'll likely end up needing to re-use the old tank seal, as we could NOT get the new one to compress enough to fit. also, be prepared, you might need to swap the power connector on the car harness-- the pump i got had the new style connector from GM, but came with the new pigtail, so spliced it on, and good to go.

**** you might not want to re-use the old tank seal after all --- i filled the tank with gas today, and it leaked around the rim of the new pump... so i guess i have to disassemble and force the new gasket in place

I purchased the racetronix pump from prjperformance, so hopefully all goes well. My pump went out with 72k on my 97gtp. I wish this would have happened a week or so ago as I start school next week and I need my car up and running. I still need to move all my crap to Dekalb

so you have to re-use your canister, etc. --lube the o-ring well...
