How to install front door speakers?! 1998 Grand Prix

Long story short, my driver's side front speaker is out and passenger speakers rattles so im replacing them myself. What size speakers fit my car, im guessing 6.5's? and I need a basic summary of how to so this entire thing. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
 


They are 5.25 but you can fit 6.5's. Basically, remove the window/ lock switch (take a flathead screwdriver and gently pry up on the bottom of it(the end closest to the handle you use to pull the door closed) , there are two torque screws behind that handle and one phillips screw behind the triangleish mirror cover. And the rest of the door panel is just held on by push pins.

Yes, you just have to trim out the factory plastic mount that the stock speakers sit in, or make your own angled spacers.
 
alright cool, Thats what I'm going to do then. I kept looking for the 5.25'' ones and the 6.5'' ones have better high and low output which is what I want.
 
make sure you get new push pins before you start or you'll be going to the store when your finished. your going to break them pulling the door panel off no matter what
 


if you have the right tools and you have experiance with door pannels you might not break them i would get a couple push pins though cause theres probably a good chance you might break a few i got mine off with out breaking them but it is better to buy new ones because there plastic and new one will grab better

Ive pulled my panels on the drive and passenger doors off like 4 time and then finally replaced the clips when i installed my fron door speakers. lol. If ur skilled u should be able to make it work for a couple times. :o
 
Ive never broke the push pins, but they wear out. When they get worn you get some rattles. Since you already have the panels off, just replace them. They're like $4 a box at your local parts store.
