Upper Engine Torque Strut Mount Bolt Question

Anyone know the size, thread and length on those OEM bolts that hold the Engine Torque Strut Mounts in place? There are two per mount, one in front by the radiator bracket and another towards the engine bracket. I know they are metric (10 mm) and a 10.9 grade (strength) but not sure. I misplaced one of them during a new radiator install and new tranny cooler lines today. I checked everywhere and no one has anything comparable in stock. I plan on ordering them via the internet but lack all the info. I am also replacing those damn heater elbows for like the 3rd time in less than 2 years! :th_angry-teeth: Thanks.

They're not 10 mm for sure. I wanna say they are m12x1.5, really any giant ass bolt will work as long as it's the same length. If you want oem, then go to a jy

Hell no. They would charge an outrageous price. Just go to home depot and take one of the bolts with you. It doesn't even have to be the same thread, as long as it's the same length

Thanks all. I went to home depot and sized it up and it is a 12M-1.5 x 60 mm but they don't have any 10.9 grade (strength) so using anything lower is probably gonna wreak havoc and probably break with due time. I am just gonna hit up the local junk yards.

junk yard would be your best bet. OEM part and free/$1

annnnd if you just really feel like it, I need (2) strut bolts, the two that bolt up to the knuckle. just if you have the extra elbow grease time and generosity :D
one of the bolts on either side of my struts are damn near rounded off.

Thanks. I ended up at the junk yard and took them of a junker with the same 3800 series engine but now I know where to purchase them from in case I ever lose one again.

No problem... There aren't any JY's near me so it's just easier to order online. Offset cost of driving to a JY -vs- online, ship/tax and the online buy is just easier most of the time. :)

put a little anti seize on them and they wont rust and break off next time. i had the same problem, just have to go out and get the bolts now
