Anything required for engine swap, L67-L32

For a 00 GTP? I have 180k miles and about to put a gen v on it with some headers and supporting mods, i think sometime next year gonna find a very good condition 07 gtp engine, get port and polish the lim,sc,tb, and then swap it in. Good idea? Is there a better idea?

All that I had to do to run my l32 was get the TB adapter plate and I think its different with different years some do some don't have to swap water temp sensors(I did). Other than that most everything else just bolts right up... Evap is in a different spot, but I don't run that so just made a blockoff plate for the back of the gen V. As far as the order to do it and what to get done that mainly depends on the setup and goals you have... IMO porting the lim and tb and SC is a bit of a waste without ported heads. The blower really don't need it, it's pretty good from the factory, maybe clean the cast marks and do a bit of smoothing is all. And just get a N* TB right outta the gate, that way you don't waste money on an l67 TB adapter and then decide later to upgrade to N* and have to get another $75-100 adapter. Plus the N* is 75mm just like the inlet on the genV and probably won't be a ton more than a ported stock TB which the biggest they get is 72mm and that's with a new butterfly. The LIM if you port the runners without porting the heads you will have a shoulder for the air to hit right where it enters the head and might actually make less power.

right, i actually take back porting the tb because i would have to get a tune for it, well i actually just dont need that much power, just want to do a swap to a newer gp engine, i know i know, ima want more power later on, but thats not really my goal. need a car point a to point b, but ill keep in mind about porting the heads. are there aftermarket vaccum hoses, mine are so brittle and break easy,

I just ordered a bunch of blue silicone hose from china, super cheap and good quality for small vacuum stuff(kinda thinwall) and then pick up a pack of t-s and maybe some small zip ties if any feel loose. I had one blow off under boost one time...

a lot of money for that swap.

is your engine failing?

I wouldn't go that far Matt... I got mine for like 12-1300 shipped and all I had to buy was a tb adapter which was used and only $50. And you get a newer motor w lower miles, powdered metal rods, the almighty gen V, s3 heads with a smidge bigger intake valve(not that it makes a difference) and if you go 06 up you'll know you have the aluminum framed LIM gaskets. And all you gotta do is add fluids.
