Ok guys,
I'm from a pretty rough area in the city of Detroit and after my college graduation, i'll be moving back to Detroit. If anyone if familiar with the city, its 7 mile and Greenfield. I really want to look into some anti-theft devices because in my area, auto theft and car-jacking are a BIG problem, and I have a 4 year old daughter to protect. So any suggestions on where to look? or what to consider? I know my buddy has a switch for his cop-car that turns on his fuel pump, and it won't even turn over without it. So I thought that was cool. But any ideas? Thanks for reading.

The most expensive 2 way viper you can get!
They have vibration sensors, 2 way remotes, tilt sensors, shock sensors, glass sensors. all sorts of add ons.

The easiest and cheapest way is to cut the starter wire, wire up a switch and hide the switch. When you get out of the car flip the switch off and the starter is dead. This will prevent theft by amateur car thieves, but will only slow down more advanced thieves. Or you can get a digital starter kill. They come with a keypad that requires a code before the car will start. It will also require a code within 2 minutes or so, if the door is opened while the car is running. So if you are car jacked, they will not get too far before the car dies. And they're not very expensive. 103T Digital Failsafe Starter Kill

I have the Viper 5901 which is awesome. I have only added the additional shock sensor and it is great. But like Brian said, this thing can do it all. I would get the 5901 not the 5902. I have heard complaints of the buttons getting hit accidentaly on the 02 remote. And with the range of this thing, you dont want to unlock it not meaning to in your pocket.

I agree with the 5901. I have that also and there are a ton of things you can add to it. But, if your car is not a daily driver, I wouldnt recommend it. I had to remove mine because I got tired of the car battery being dead. But if your car is your daily, and you want to spend a few hundred bucks, I would go that route.

It really depends on how you want to do it.
Fuel: interupt the ground to the fuel pump

Interupt the injector power

Starting: interupt the p/n signal to the PNP switch

I can see pro's and cons to all the above.
