So A few weeks back, I gave a friend 20 Bucks for a Infinity 10" Subwoofer in a Kicker truck box. I used it for a while and My coworker showed some interest in it for his truck. So I said Whattya wanna give me for it.

He said he had two brand new 12's he would trade. I thought to myself even if they are knock off cheapos I would still be ahead.

So Today we traded. Turns out they were Two Auditor 300 S 12's Brand new in the boxes never been opened. They are selling on amazon for 175 a piece.

So Who got screwed?

Checked at the Pawn shop yesterday. And they have a 2 Sub Bandbass box with a glass front for 40 Bucks... So It looks like thats what i be getting.

I'd pass on the pawn shop bandpass boxes. Bandpass enclosures are picky sumb*tches, and a generic one will suck when compared to a properly executed one. Not many specs on the sub, other than "optimized for a sealed enclosure." Given that limited information, I'd recommend getting a simple sealed box with about 1-1.3 cu.ft. per chamber... so 2 or 2.6 cubes if it's one large chamber. While that's a ballpark figure for a sealed 12, it's still not exact, due to the lack of thiele/small parameters on the page.

EDIT: TSPs were in a .pdf on the page... they were also nice enough to supply a frequency response graph. So yeah, look for (or build, it's easy) a sealed dual 12 box (I prefer separate chambers with sealed enclosures, but it won't really matter as long as your airspace is correct) with between .75 and 1.1 cu.ft. per chamber.

So Who got screwed?

Nobody. If you are both happy then price is irrelevant. I think you got the better deal, but you never know, he may have gotten a smoking deal on those woofers in the first place. Besides, he may have gotten them on a trade and it was more than he wanted in his truck and a single 10" would suffice... I prefer Sound QUALITY over Loudness so I would opt for a nice single 10" in my car just for the bass sound.

Ask him how he's liking the 10" and if he is all ;) then don't worry about it. :th_thumb-up:
