Wiring fog lights to stay on with brights

This is relating for a 97-03, specifically a 99.
Ok, I searched and found this thread to be sorta helpful: http://www.grandprixforums.net/fog-lights-high-beams-7318.html
But it's lacking pictures.
And relay 11 (ignition relay) makes me think that they will be ON whenever the ignition is on?
This I do not want to happen. I have the DRL fuse pulled, so turning the lights on/off is all up to me using the knob.

So, what I'm asking is if anyone has any insight to this thread or a better write up with pictures?
Reason I'm wanting to do this is that since we put HID's in, I have nothing when brights are flipped on. So if someone else is driving the car or I have to flash lights, I don't want everything going completely dark.

There is the backinblack website which.has.it. outcry its on as long ad the parking lights are on. Sorry I cant link but its a.mobile. and I'm drilynk and cant find a space bar

There is the Back In Black website that has the wiring you're wanting. Outcry is on there and the parking lights are on too. (I didn't quite get that part) Sorry I can't get the link but I'm on mobile. And I'm drunk and can't find the space bar.

This is the site he's referring to. BACKINBLACK's Grand Prix electrical modifications

Owned. :p

Back In Black did the write up in the thread I posted, but pictures aren't there and I was confused on some of the steps.

Oh well, maybe when he sobers up he can offer some insight :p

Looking at the schematics it looks like if you just take and cut the 86 terminal off and wire it to ground that should work ok. It looks like the fog lights would be on whenever the headlamp switch is on. If I still had my 02 I would try it and see if it worked or not.

An easier way might be to just install a switch and relay to control the fog's separate from the headlight/bright wiring altogether.

This way, they're on when you want them independently and won't be disabled with brights... Simply take power from battery or fuse block, feed relay then feed fogs, switch controls relay. If you worry that you'll forget to turn them off, then you can use the ignition circuit for a feed to the CONTROL side of the switch, this way when car's off so are the lights. I'm not sure though what type of lights and the load on that circuit so don't quote me there.

I remember seeing a mod that set up switches using an extra HUD switch plate (same that's on the right side) put into the left side that has same space/hole... Can't find that thread, but it's an idea for ya'.

Just my $.02...
:)

try this too... my apologies for linking another forum.

Haha. I think the 86 terminal trick would work as said by 35thLE and it shows how to in the link posted by coolone.

What would happen if the fogs got wired into the parking lights? Would they flash with the turn signals then? (this being no beuno)

this should work
