Slp hood on car may-5-12

Bought a hood locally for 50 bucks to start this project..


These are from last week..

And today i made the first cut into it..
There is lots of under structure that i had to cut out of the way, but not ruin the latch or its structure.
Drilled out the spot welds around the hood latch and cut away some of the sheet metal to cut out some of the structure..

Drilled out the spot welds around the hinge and had cut this flap off

Yeah it'll be functional just working the scoops for now..

This is looking sweet man. If the final product is nice, which right now it looks excellent, you can produce these and make some bank.

functional ram air is 120% pointless with the way the engine faces. just make it look good and dont worry about making it work for real.

great progress so far, though. i think it will end up really nice looking in the end.

Welded it up last night

Then i did some grinding an couple more spots i welded, just gotta clean up some of the weld in the arch.
An tomorrow im gonna work on the underside, IDK if i wanna make a port running to airbox or just button it up an let it cool the bay since i have hood spacers..? INPUT?
