I would eventually like to do a complete fuel system clean but in the meantime was wondering if there was a good add to the tank injector cleaner/horsepower restorer etc.I remember one being advertised alot during the BARRETT JACKSON CAR AUCTIONS on tv,alot of people endorsing it but cant for the life of me remember who makes it.

Hahaha new injectors.Ok maybe later on that may happen. The trans fluid one had me because i had never thought you could put this in a gas tank, but as i read a discussion about it it said in small amounts in both gas and oil. However there seemed to be way to many people advising against it.The sea foam or techron might be the way to go.I was also wondering what some opinions on Marvel Mystery Oil.Is MMO for gas injectors?

Not sure for it's use in the fuel, but I've run MMO in the crankcase on a few of my cars and never had an issue. Usually stick to using seafoam for fuel then make sure I change the fuel filter after it's use.

Fordman,i just read up on the MMO they do make a fuel additive version.I am glad you mentioned the need to replace the fuel filter upon using the seafoam.Of course that would be an issue right now because i inspected my fuel filter and unfortunately it and the lines immediately around it are fairly rusted which might mean a fair bit of work to replace.Im just trying to do some simple things(air filters, plugs, etc)until i can actually afford more detailed work.Surprisingly the car actually still runs strong, accelerates good, idles decent. It now has 211k miles on it.

Just toss a can of Seafoam in there, they all do the same thing. You won't notice a difference, and you probably don't need the full cleaning either.

Change the filter, put additive in a new tank of gas.

Then if you feel so compelled, pull the fuel rails, pop the injectors out, and let them soak in the clean or your choice. Install new o-rings top and bottom, and be all squeaky clean.

Techron if you have access to it.
Seafoam is the best thing you can find pretty much anywhere. Seafoam is best used half in the fuel tank, a tiny bit in the crankcase, and whatever is left through the brake booster.
Lucas Injector cleaner would be my next choice.

Don't forget to change your fuel filter too, that may help with whatever issues you are having.

Hippo, if most people say something, it has to be true, right? Ever have a gummed up injector, then clean it, and actually feel a seat of the pants difference, because you're actually getting the correct amount of fuel to the cylinder??

Just because most people say it, doesnt mean its fact. Now, 99% of the time, people pop a can of cleaner in because they want to keep things clean.

Oh, and spider4, I think I remember what it is. Z-MAX, endorsed my Carroll Shelby. Supposedly soaks into the metal, and saves you tons of money on increased gas-mileage and stuff.

Machinegunsquid. You are correct sir.Im guessing by the SUPPOSEDLY in your response you havent tried it? But im guessing its probably about equal to all the other products, they probably all do a job just boils down to preference.
