• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Too Slow, Time for a build (GEN V/N*/L32 Lim build)

umm the series 3 3.8 is worlds different than the series 2.....the casting on the oil pump housing and many other parts are alot smoother which you wouldnt think is much but if you did think that then you'd be a dumb ass. those are the more efficient and better flow modifications over the two series.

ok now i see why you posted the pics..the thread was getting filled with some much BS i didnt see this

yeah lol i understand. alot of people dont understand the actual problems with these engines and what goes on inside rather than what they see in the top end. id rather know that my oil is flowing and safe than whether my heads are ported out and im running the biggest baddest cam on the market

checking in.

stop posting in here if you have nothing to contribute. you're not helping. stay out. you know who you are.

can you believe this kid is STILL going on and on? jesus..but anyways yeah i see what your talking about, didnt go cam route yet primarily because my yella terras springs etc are all brand new and im not wanting to switch em out to allow a cam at the moment, in time i will though

right right. just manage what you can with your budget as of now. then when the time comes, make the switch.

yeah hippo lmao......ok im done. I just dont like people thinking i dont how the whole vehical works....i assure you i do.

so pages 2-4 i skipped...youve been warned. you asked for my thoughts and opinions, here they are:

- ditch that northstar and LQ4. seriously. not worth the money. sell it and spend it on beer. the northstar throttle feel is like having sex with a bowl of jello. throttle body upgrades are meant for all out builds, which this is not.

- if you want to gain much, like flake said, you need to do a cam swap.

- you will not achieve this build for under $1000 since it's not worth the effort unless you spend more and get more.

stock engine dynoed 196hp
it dynoed 201hp with plog/downpipe.
after headers...it did 219hp - 18 hp gains
added cam...it bumped up to 243hp - 24 hp gains

THIS WAS WITHOUT A TUNE

want real proof?
DO IT YOURSELF AND WASTE LOTS OF MONEY

just my two cents!

you wanted proof! there it is.
i have 278hp on a 3.4 pulley cam headers and full exhaust, and afr at 11.8 NOTHING ELSE DONE

EDIT:
LOW BUDGET BUILD!!!
Stage 1 Intense Blower cam $200
MPS $50
Full Exhaust $150
Headers $125

less than a 1000 bucks
