Disabling Automatic Headlights

ive read a lot of threads on here and other site about this and ive had no clear answer. i just want to disable my automatic headlights on my 1999 Grand Prix GTP. ive already disabled the DRLs and i know i could just click the parking brake on once but then the BRAKE light on the dash is on which is not ok, please help.

well the head lights still turn on at night automatically but the DRLs dont come on in the day time
 
nope that sure does not make any sense. i have a 98 and uplugged the DRL fuse and that took care of both. I suppose worse comes to worse you can pop the dash panel and unplug the twilight sensor that controls the automatic lights.
 
pulling the fuse kills the entire twilight / drl system in 97 - 99 cars
pulling the drl module kills the drl's and leaves the auto headlights
 
z3r0 your sure that works? off hand i think its fuse number 37 thats your DRLs but ive heard of people pulling that and it ****ed up all there light and i heard that doesnt work on 1999s which might be wrong i dont know, are you sure pulling the fuse works for the 1999?
 


i pulled fuse number 37 which is the PARKIG LAMP fuse and it did nothing i have no DRL fuse i dont know what else to do
 
Pulling the DRL diode behind the drivers side dash disables the DRL's. There is a fuse behind the glove box that you can pull to disable the auto lights. I can't remember which one it is since I pulled mine out years ago. That works fine up to I believe 2000. If you don't want to do that, then you can do this

theres no fuse in the glove box at all i look everywhere behind all the pannels i could pull the only fuse box is the one in the engine bay and there is no DRL fuse in there also if i pull the PARK LAMP fuse it does nothing

In my S10 I put a resistor in the connector of the harness leading to the auto light sensor. It basically tricks the car into thinking it's still daytime. I assume it'll work on these cars as well?
 


I just put a resistor in place where the light sensor is on the dash for the automatic headlights. You simply unplug the light sensor and put the resistor in its place. Now the car thinks its daytime, all the time and the auto headlights don't come on. I don't remember what ohm resistor it is off hand but its in the forum somewhere. Search for it.

In the center of the dash all the way up by the window there should be a small cover where the security light is. Pop that cover off and disconnect the light resistor and simply put the each end of the resistor in plug. One in the one side of the plug, the other end in the other side.

Done.
