just curious if i can put a 05 3.8 from a buick lacross or chevy 3.8 in my 98 gtx, im going turbo and want a good block, and is the 05 considered the l26 block? just for ordering options, series 2 or 3??
 


i have the option for a l36, 98 buick 3.8 42,000 miles,or go with the 05? oor should i just stay l67/l32?, remember im going to use a z3 turbo kit with it..
 
All (supercharged and NA) 3.8 blocks in 05 us powdered metal rods. This is considered an upgrade. They are not weak.
 


Stick with either an L67, or L32 (supercharged) if you arent going to mess with the bottom end (smart people dont)

They have lower compression which = better for turbo build!

Also, the L26 have weaker pistons, and much weaker wrist-pins.
 
what cars do the l32 come in? and what years ? looking for engines rite now, i dont want a a sc housing sitting on top of motor, so can i use a l26 intake setup? on the l67 or l32??
 
The l32 came in gtps 04+ only. And yes you use the l26 intake mani for the turbo to ditch the sc housing. Good news being you can sell the sc for a decent chunk of change
