My radio back light and the back light on the dic unit are out the displays work as I can read them when I use a flash light to light them up or the sun hits them right but otherwise there's no light any ideas is this caused by a bad fuse or what?? I have also noticed the the driver HUD some times is very dim and then brightens up as I drive I have a 2001 grand prix gtp special edition

Did they all just go at once? I'm gonna assume not, in which case the DIC has twist in bulbs, just pull it out and replace them. Or you can follow my write up and change them to LED or even change the color http://www.grandprixforums.net/dic-color-change-first-atempt-learn-my-mistakes-34472.html Few pages in is the better version I did...
As for the radio there's a write up on that somewhere too but you must take the radio all kinds of apart and know how to solder new bulbs in.
There's also a write up on the dimming HUD, that one too involves soldering the photoeye back on after removing the old solder
Ahhh I dunno if they both went out at the same time or not I just bought the car about a month ago and they were already out So I kinda was hoping it was a fuse or loose wire since they were both out but I was afraid of that ....the radio im not to worried about as im planning to replace that any ways once ....thanks for the advice. I'll pull it apart this weekend and check it out
