ok i know this is a shot in the dark and very hard for anyone to diagnose without hearing or seeing the vehicle.but who knows,maybe one of you guys have run into this exact issue.the noise is very regular,happens everytime,exact same time.whenever you start the car and put in gear(which it does pretty smooth)within about 10 feet of pulling off or backing up,you get a quick scraping sound like a piece of metal rubbing the road,then it is gone and you dont hear it anymore.only when you start the car and pull off do you hear it briefly.
 


abs motor engaging? drag your foot on the brake on that first start and first drive. i drag my brake to the edge of the driveway, let off and it sounds like a fart. and then off i go. so if you drag it and it does it when u let off, im sure it's the abs motor.

im pretty sure thats the sound. not so much metal scraping.. but everyone has their own perception.

EDIT: basically. it only does the motor test once you release the brake for a certain period of time on that first startup. i know it was a bit confusing there :o
 
Is it your air intake? My makes a kinda "scraping a shovel on the ground" sound when it runs. Its just sucking in air.

brandon,havent narrowed it down yet.it only occurs within a few seconds of putting in gear and pulling forward.does sound very much like that "shovel to the ground" that was mentioned.i have another noise issue too,guess ill have to start a thread on that too unless i see something in search on it.
 


i mean i can try to record my abs motor engaging and you can see if thats it. but you should really make a video if you wanna solve this.

scotty actually that is good.so you see the picture.im just learning how to use this link/photobucket stuff.and that is the only pic i have currently.more to follow....and hopefully video.
