PCM from ZZP?

So I browse CL like I breath, and I found this and I just so happen to have a 97. My question is how hard would it be to install this and is their a way it could be a faulty unit? I see other parts on CL from a 97 GP so im thinkin he wreaked and is parting out any heads up before I make the purchase would be great!

Grand prix performance PCM

zzp is not the best pcm out there.

Id run a dhp pcm befor I ever touched a zzp one.

and zzzp has really high prices on stuff too and alot of there mod info is outdated.

Alot of stuff you can find on here for alot cheaper.

zzp 1.0 pcm is probably damn near identical to the dhp 1.0 pcm so it really doesnt matter. both will end up either helping or hurting depending upon how your car takes to it.

Well this is good to know, its not like it was on my hot list to do. i just saw the ad and was interested. What are some common issues/side effects of the PCM?

sometimes the timing tables are bumped, which will in turn introduce some KR to the system. sometimes it doesnt. sometimes the tables for the transmission arent exactly how youd want them. etc. etc. etc.

it really is different for each car.

i heart my intense but in about a couple months ima get a dyno tune locally from a guy thanks to boostedcompg

custom tuning is where it is at! drop in tunes help but someone with a tuner can do much better. but if they dont know what they are doing they can do much worse too.....
