Need Help with HIDS

Ok so i got a set of HIDs off of my buddy that were used and they still worked.... So today i try to wire one side up just to see if it would work, when i turn on my headlights nothing, but when i switch it to high beam lights the bulb flashes but wont stay on.....
Im not sure whats going on here maybe its not getting enough power or something im not sure any info on what to do would help alot...

I've seen a bunch of DDM/VVME hids where you could put one of the plugs on it in two different orientations. One works, one doesn't. Might be something to look for.

ok just checkin cause mine wont work unless the motors running and they just sit there and flash,
check your ground and make sure its clean and tight

Right now it runs off the same power supply as the regular lights would maybe its not enough power so should i have it hooked up to the battery also?

It doesn't take power from the battery at all times. It only does when the car is running and when the lights are on. It will take minimal power from the battery and is not an issue. Buy a relay harness for them and run it right to the battery.

^ what this noob said ;)
The reason to have a relay is to make sure you are only taking the power from the battery when needed (when the lights turn on).

Its ok i fixed it today by buying 2 cheap relays and wiring it my self... the hids work good now...thanks for the help
