Oil light coming off and on

Hey guys i have a 99 grand prix gt and went to the GP meet on friday and raced it a couple times and had no problems what so ever, on my way home i went to pass one of my buddies on the highway and dropped high second gear from 75 roll and it like stalled out at about 5300 rpms, and now when i come to a stop, when the car is warm only, the oil flashing light flashes on and off, i've checked the oil and its good and full, and have no other clue with what happened to it. Let me know what you guys think!

Okay, my dad has one and do you just hook it up thru the oil sender unit or what? And nick you jinxed my car when you said you wanted to do that 30 roll lol

The hell I did, you didn't even race.

I had to race Cody's junker and I held it off in a stock N/A car...lulz.

Regardless...yes, you just need the correct fitting.

This can also be a bad oil seal in the pressure sensor. If you pull the connector and the inside is wet. Clean it out and replace the sensor.

its not time for an oil change and it is the oil pressure light..
oil was topped off continues to happen
ill get a vid up later if you guys want and ill have him look into it bill

Like I said...get a mechanical gauge...cheap and GREAT tool to have sitting around...they are less than 20 bones for the Sunpro ones at Autozone.

The car did have well over 200k on the clock and he was out beating on it....food fer thought...just to rule out things. Bill's suggestion would be easy to check though.

the kids lazy ill get him on it..
and valid point :th_exploding:

i would but he has oil pressure gauges back in town (40 mi south of where we go to school) i think we will get it tested in a few days ill bring one up cuz im not sure he should be driving the car

Im not lazy! Just do stuff when i want. LOL. And Nick it only has 215K, and was running strong until the drive home. HaH. Ill do it this friday. Austin were going to build a "custom" gauge cluster in the DIC. and just have it running the whole time so i could know.

I will do both of your smart suggestions this weekend. LOL Maybe the motor will be dunzo and i can do that turbo build sooner Nick. HAH :th_biggrin2:
