• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

has anyone seen this???

from copgtp's gen5 swap faq thread

Congratulations on making this decision, now be ready to spend some money!!

You should budget yourself at LEAST $1200 for this conversion. You may find some items cheaper than what I will list, but this is a good starting number to work with.

you are saying you only spent so much but as nick got a smokin deal and you are pointing that out, isn't it fair to point out you also got a smokin deal?

Not really. Actually prices have gone down since I bought my stuff.

Yes if you buy a full kit from Morad you are gonna pay an arm and a leg. Get the parts yourself from a junk yard and from the forums there is no way you are going to spend $1000.

like everyone else I'm just waiting to see if it works and if it makes good power. i don't think anyone is going to argue that its not a better blower. aren't people spending like 1000+ on gen3 to gen5 swaps for 10-15hp?

They USED to be spending that much...now if you know how to junkyard or CL shop...people are snagging up GenV's for 250-500 and mod a LIM for free?

Plenty of money left over for some nitrous and you still beat the TVS car? AMIRITE? I'm just stating options...

The only thing is the two maps are different. One is in (minutes) other in (hours) I guess I don't know how that would skew it but I bet the map would look much different.

I think this is for the MP90 NOT the 1600ax, that is why it is so similar.

The thread title is "has anyone seen this???"

You just posted stuff I haven't seen.

You are in the clear... lol

what does everyone actually think this swap will make for power
I've hung out with nick a bunch of times and imo he's a genius. i gotta go with him on this one, if he says he's conservatively shooting for 350 i think he hits 350

Pure, I dont think you read them very well.

AB efficiency is 62 peak on the gen V and 66 peak on the AX1600.

TVS is higher than both.

FAQ: Harrop LSJ-1320 TVS & You - Saturn ION RedLine Forums

My last dyno was 318/288 @ 7,395rpm w/ afr of 11.9 and 17* timing @ 69*F w/ 48% humidity; and was still on the way up. Stock air box mod, pacesetter header, 3" catless dp, 3" custom exhaust, secondary cobra h/e, no meth. IAT2's topped at 133*F after the third pull. My 2.6/60's setup hit 160+ IAT2's after multiple runs and dyno'd in at 258/239.

Intercooled running 20 PSI and the IAT's were 133

Delta T is 64 for the first scenario.

Compared to an intercooled M90: http://www.zzperformance.com/products_img/145_3.jpg

140-150 is the best you can hope for.

Doing something logical = genius now?

You sure? If that is true the TVS 1320 beats every Lysholm blower. I am wondering if the per minute vs. per hour comparison makes a difference?

i meant in general. if you ever got the chance to have a face to face conversation with him hes just very smart, which is why i believe if he says 350 it will be 350 or more. but if this swap is so logical how come no one has tried it?

so people who have never met him or havent gotten past 3.4 setups are doggin him sayin hes a moron and a dirtbag and commenting that the swap isnt going to work

i get it!

No I believe that was Vet.

To be frank: This isn't how hot rodding is supposed to go.

You're supposed to go out, do it, then when you have results, POSSIBLY share.

Many don't share at all.

Mainly because its about having a car that you like to drive, not making yourself an e-hero by making more power than everyone else.

i was under the impression that these forums were created for fans of the car to share their views, ideas and car setups with each other.

i guess i had it all wrong :(

I put a MP62 on a 2.7l v6, and im happy with the efficiency of that setup. Also it sounds more like csc type blower and makes me a bit jealous. At the same time, I didn't really expect anyone here to care lol but I posted it when I saw a relevant thread pop up.

SO to see a smaller blower set up go into play, Im listening, but id rather not listen to all the bs, and nut-huggin, just the facts. So when you have some FACTS, list em.
materials, cost, results and a how to

I hope slo gets it done , but they call him slo for a reason ;)
