oil leak

i went to work monday, parked my car, and went to maryland for a over night run, came back tonight, started my car, went back to sign out, lock up all that crap, as im walking back to my car i see fluid leaking.

i thought i left the a/c on, but no, so i get down and touch it, and it feels like oil, but real thick, so i pop the hood, and theres a strip on my hood, the coils are coated, the snout had oil on it, the top of the timing cover is coated. so i got the flash light out and down by between the balance'r and the p/s pump i see oil spraying, like its being whipped off the belt, not even sure what would cause this, only thought was the crank seal.

so i shut it off, check the oil level, its close to full so i drive home, 1 mile tops, i pop the hood and its not leaking any more, im like WTF?

any ideas?

oil gremlins...
either you better get it fixed be for the weekend

...or is this you not wanting to come and be the only one without a gp and be the odd(old) man out

your to funny, its a real leak, im off tomorrow so i can take a better look at it, its odd that it stopped tho, like a bad seal, almost like it went dry, then leaked, and then stopped or something, idk but it needs to be addressed.

just got back from moving the car, still no leak, took it out, beat on it it a little bit, (trans seems extra firm tonight) and still no leak. i dont get it.

and to boot the car feels like its running really good. maybe its just the cai i just put on. but its smooth sounding now.

Pull the passengerside wheel off and inspect. Likely the seal in the oil pressure sensor has gone south for the winter like all these Canadian geese that keep flying over.

thats on my list, i just got the call from my friend whos garage i use to work in, he forgot to leave the keys (dumb ass) so im checking the s/c , the power steering pump, and the timing cover, and i cant wait to see if it leaks this morning, very odd leak for sure.

and it was the accessory belt that was slinging the oil, not the s/c belt. at least thats the way it looks to be lined up with the stripe on my hood.

it was thick cold and yellowish colored, and sticky feeling,(did not stink like s/c oil, i changed it last year) the under side of the snout was wet, top of the timing cover, spray all over, and a 6 inch round puddle under the car. that was dripping at a good rate,( puddle dripped off the splash guard by the a/c, and to the ground) all this in 10 to 15 minutes while i warmed up the car, walking back to it i saw the leak. then it stopped. and with a flash light i could see oil misting in the air down by the balance'r and p/s pulley, like it was slinging it from the bottom and up.

My mommy was from Jersey and with a very Italian name. Keep tossing all my off the cuff suggestions out the window....and I'ma gonna visit you with some cement in the trunk of the Regal. :th_laugh-lol3:

You said the oil wasn't low, it's not coolant, ps fluid is thin..

So get outside and get cracking on figuring it out.

im waiting for my phone to ring, so i can get the keys to the garage, and then ill have it in the air and be able to tell more.

hey talk about Italians, i used to work for garbage company's, you think i may know a thing or 2 about making people disappear. lol (one was fully mob owned)

ive seen the land fill dug up 5 times, yes looking for body's.

on the s/c, the fluid would be black after a years use, no? about 3,000 miles so far since the change.

Grampa sold carpet at Bambergers. Somehow had a huge house.. Plus..no mob would bury bodies at the dump. Too easy to find them.

wow bambergers lol thats a old store, long gone now.

the land fill is mapped out by gps they know how deep and how far and wide of a area they filled in, the thing is, the hill settles, and their mapping system is like a 3d grid, so cube by cube they have a good idea where any given days dumping went, but it still takes months to find a body. they close off that part of the dump, dig down to the where they need to be, take that trash to another side of the dump, dump it and go threw every last piece of it. then dump that back into that days dumping area. 30 to 40 guys in white suits with sticks to poke at it all. not a good job.

and think about the bulldozer that mulls and stomps the trash down, a bodys going to be all ground up by the time they find it, yuck!

ok hows the motor mount leaking sound? sc has fluid, p/s is ok, oil is ok, trans fluid is ok.

here's 2 pics of the leaking under the car. its leaking out the 4 holes where the motor mount lives, when i reached up and put my hand on the top side of the bucket all i felt was wet oily mush, like the mount had totally broken down.
