• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Can you spot the difference!?!?

So my car hasn't been "itself" lately (about 2 days), but it was stilling running and I had tons city driving and stuff to take care so never really thought much about it.
Decided to pop the hood today and check her out, maybe top off some fluids.
I was greeted with this little...... :th_happybday5:

Wtf!? Which one is that....I can't remember the order of. Pullies off the top of my head.
edit: u answered before mine posted. I've been hearing a "rattle" from one of the pullies lately.....I bet that's a warning sign, huh!? Lol

There was a lose bearing in the idler... although it might have broke while it was being ripped to shreads.. it may have been the cause of the whole failure.

Edit.. front supercharger idler..3.0" ribbed idler pulley

Edit.. I found a bunch of vids online with the "screeching" my car had been making for a while (sounding like something needed to be greased/oiled) I'm betting the bearing in the idler had been slowly going bad, did some "racing" on Tuesday and I think that's what did it in.

I'd use the tensioner, put some slack in the s/c belt (or remove the whole thing), and move each one by hand, if you feel any resistance from it it may be on its way out.

LOL,

Ignoring sounds and dismissing them is for guys willing to accept the consequences...or that know what the sound is.

When you car makes a sound..lift the hood. It could have been a quick easy fix.

Oh I agree, and I did. I just couldn't track down wich pulley it was. I kind of thought it may be the idler, but now after reading this im almost 100% it is and im gonna replace it asap along with my belt that looks a lil old....which btw looks like fun! Lol

Anyone know what part that is and where I can get a new one.. it goes inside the idler (which I just bought) has a slight lip on it, the one in the picture is cracked.

Holy, ****sticks.

That part is the little plastik guy that kind of slips/screws up the bolt so you can press it into the pulley. No idea what part number.

I'm thinking of just walking into the stealership, not even sure they'd have it. not sure if I would trust one from the hardware store, because if it were to wear away, boom again!!
