a few questions, and concerns

where to start. ok so i have a 2000 grand prix gt. i was looking for a little more power, so i did the ss m90 kit from zzp. got the power:) but now, i have a few issues.

the first issue i have dealt with for quite some time since the upgrade is this weird delay in throttle response. its actually quite annoying, and it seems as if NOBODY can figure the problem out. i can explain very precisely what happens:

when the car is cold, i will give it some gas, and the rpms will drop, and almost die, but then it will rev high above 1grand for a bit, then drop back to a little bit above 1grand(normal rev for cold engine as many of you know). ok, so i start driving, and through each of the gears, the rpms dont go up steadily but kind of "notch" their way up(hopefully that made sense). when the car shifts, the rpms drop even as i step on the gas. however, once the car has warmed up, i no longer have this "lag" issue. any suggestions?

the next issue is some codes i have thrown. thanks to my aeroforce intercepter scan gauge, i have not had to go to the dealer to get the codes. i throw a p1133 code on a regular basis(weekly), and every once in a while a p0300 code (monthly). since the p1133 code is "bad o2 sensor," we swapped out the front sensor, and it was fine for a while. but i still throw the code on a weekly basis. any suggestions for me to quit throwing these codes? i am not sure if it has anything to do with the codes, but the grand prix has also seemed to have lost a little bit of power. i feel as if the codes are part of the problem.

if anyone has ANY sort of idea to help me out, i would greatly appreciate it. these problems dont seem critical, but are very annoying :\

i am also looking to upgrade my head lights. i need new housings for sure, cuz mine are fogged out. has anyone done the HID conversion? it looks tight:)

the cold issue sounds like a cold miss, you using ac plugs? I helped write a tsb on the s10's with a similar issue, the fix is replace the ac plugs with autolite copper (don't ask me why, but the ac plugs are not a consistent quality)

yea, thats what the guy who helped me install the charger said, something about the plugs being too cold. however, the charger came with the colder plugs, so i have no opted to switch them out. or can i?

*edit* i just looked up what kind of plugs, autolite 103s....

The dead spot issue sounds like an air/fuel issue. It may take some tweaking on a tuner to get it exactly right. Lots of people who put on different throttle bodies have this issue, and it can be remedied with a few tweaks.

i bet that is also a possibility of why i keep throwing the o2 sensor code and the random misfire code?

What kind of 02 sensor code are you throwing? Slow switching? I doubt very seriously that You o2 sensor code is a result of an improper tune. But could be a cause of your hesitation problem.

i throw a p1133 code on a weekly basis. replaced the front O2 sensor earlier this summer. fine for a while, but now back to the codes, and diminished power. also throwing a p0300 (random misfire) on a monthly basis i would say.

Refresh my memory on what the 02 code is since i dont have my tuner in front of me.

Looks like you have a bad o2 sensor. There is nothing to my knowledge that will make an o2 sensor throw that code.I actually have that same code being thrown and have ordered a new denso o2 sensor to fix the problem. Just to let you know i am having heasitation issues and surging rpms while crusing...along with a cupple other things.

does your engine do it when its cold? or while its warm too? mine only does it when its cold. sometimes it dosnt do it at all. last night she was runnin like a dream :) but yea, we swapped out the front O2 sensor and still no luck :(

Do you have headers? So you swapped your o2 out with another one that you knew was good and it still threw the code? Or did the problem still exist? Or both?
