What % Tint?

lmfao ......um im from ny and im pretty sure tint is tint???????? where do u get this more expensive tint from and where do u get the less expensive tint....and how much do they each cost???????(long island)
 


hey strong island, staten island here. go to a cheap monchito tint shop, they use cheap tint, a better establishment would use 3m, etc. theres a giant rim/tint place out here tire empire/wheel concepts, they have a great tint shop did my whole car 5% with a 1 piece rear window for 150$, you got unique out there no?
 
I was going to mention this before but did not think anyone had every heard of it,, Well, My car was double tinted with 35% all around, Somehow this provides better protection in the hot houston sun, I have my windshield also tinted only one time with 35%. I believe that my double tint looks better than a single 20% tint,,deeper charcoal look to it, and it does keep the inside of my car nice and cool.

well im about to double tint mine also....it has 35 or im guessing anyway it's not dark at all and i will be putting 20% over that...theres nothing wrong with the tint thats on there plus i dont feel like taking it off lol
 


TDC, as long as the tint that you have on there now is less than 6months it should be fine, If you go with 20% more you will have brought the total tint down to around, 8-10% I went with 35% both times and brought mine down to a nice looking 17-20%
 
well it is more than 6 months.ive had the car for 6 minths and it was put on before then. it's not turning purple so it's either good tint or it's cheap tint that wasent put on long ago. either way im gunna give it a shot.

Right, and all beer is the same too. :rolleyes: There is different quality and thickness of tint.
 
I had 50% on my car( darn VA laws) got bored with it and put 2 1/2% over top of that. You talk about dark. Lik .75% light coming through. Cops didn't like me too much.
 


I have one last question for you guys what is the difference from one whole piece of tint for the back window or strips?... Pros n Cons?
 
I've heard stories of it being bad becuase eventually it will buble. now...on the other hand it has not yet bubled on my car. I guess another factor may be how often you use your rear defroster.I dont use mine any.
 
i used my rear defroster in the winter all the time and my tint is holding up strong going on two years now. it shouldnt affect it at all if you have good tint.
 
I love my tint, but to tell you the truth, I have been thinking about going Limo all around and 20% on the windshield... I have never had any issues with cops in my area.. I know this is dark, but Houston has the worst sun beating down,,,,,
 
yeh i live right by unique .........u gotta see the lambo's they got parked out there in the summer.......i gotta get my stuff redone so i gotta find a good place
 


I don't like 2 peace because You can see the seam, I don't care how good the tinter is, you still see the seam
 
yea i've seen a gp with two piece and personally it looked like sh!t. So I'm plannin on going with the one piece and hopefully it will hold up.

u should go into unique, and find out what they charge for tint! then let us know!
