The Silva bullet... he actually did something to his car!

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

Try to see if you can find JUST the addco rear bar...

If so, you can buy a dorman front bar to match it and save moola.

Poly lowers only if its not a DD.

You'll hate it otherwise.

If you want handling, get the AGX.

You'll want new bushings for the sway bars, new sway bar links (moog) and new LCA's (again moog).

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

thanks matt. so an adco rear and a dorman front sway will be comparable to SLPs in performance?

and yes its my DD so ill stay with the solid mounts.. poly uppers ok? i dont mind a bit of vibration

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

no SLP is larger.

thus better.

But more expensive.

What sort of tires are you running?

I'm running the dorman/addco combo and i find my all seasons are screaming quite quickly....

Polly uppers are fine.

I've had 'em for most of the time I've had my car. No issues (stock cam)

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

right now ive got cheap all seasons, the summer wheel setup will have mild performance tires, but that wont come untill next year. i definetly dont mind a little smaller, i wont need the best, just good will do

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

I need strutsssss and want to lower it a little. SO I want AGX's but i need like 1k for the wholllllle suspension

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

gr2's are 'fine' for lowering unless u go eibach low. and even then, its not that bad.

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

the only reason im considering AGXs is because i make decent money and do want the ability to stiffen the suspension on demand, cause somedays i drive it like its a race car, but i also like long trips and honestly if i have to hear the GF ***** about every bump i hit... yeah..

if i wasnt going as low as i am or was straped on cash id defintely go gr2s

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

hollow sway bars suck.

NO U. Eh I dunno the hollow front seems to work fine for me. Solid is better imo but I don't like having the extra weight unless I can help it and i'm sure it costs more money.

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

Have lightweight wheels?

Planning an AL subframe swap?

Having an AL bumper support fabbed?

:D

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

Along with skinnies in the back, a/c ripped out and upper mounts removed. lulz

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

Sounds like you got a good list. Hollow sway bars are just as good as solids, I've got the GMPP kit. Also get a set of rear control arms, the ones from UMI are nice. At 95K you'll want to go ahead and get some new LCAs, mine are popping and creaking at 148K all the damn time.

My setup right now is UMI control arms, Konis, Eibachs, and GMPP swaybars. The car definitely can do things now that it couldn't do before. In fact I can start to get a little bit of oversteer now in the right corner.

Sounds like a good list. If you want to save some money you could get the offset poly upper mounts instead of spacers. I'm on Eibachs with the offset mounts and there is no vibration.

Re: The Silva bullet... suspension refresh, parts list

gmpp front sway bar has been known to crack, just like the stock one. hence why u should go with a solid one.

i like the list. pretty close to what im doing :)
