Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Everytime i go to burn the tires, it starts out great and than the TCS takes over and I lose power, Stupid!!!! How does this damn curse get turned off, pull a fuse or What????

97's dont have the button. i think if u buy a vendor PCM they can take it out. im not sure hopefully someone with a 97 will chime in.

97 did not have TC period.

Built in the PCM, 97s have TM. I have some of mine disabled. But not all of it. TM saves your tranny. So far it is has worked for me.

My advice is unless you have a built tranny, leave it as it is on 97s. Maybe take out the harmful turn off injector stuff. But if you have a stock tranny, pretty much leave as-is.

well than maybe mine is a 98, because it has the Light in the DIC for it. when i bought it it was sold as a 97. Im going to have to look into this one.

ZACH_GT can you show me a pic of where it is on your vehicle. Here is the thing, I have a (maybe) 97 gtp obviously supercharged (no mistaking that) and the other day i decided to see how well of a burn out i could do, Well it started out great, rolled the tires easily, than all of the sudden it was like i lost some power, stopped spinning and the car took off. I would imagine this is the traction control system doing its job. On my DIC there is no button to turn it off or on. And i know there is nothing wrong with the motor or tranny that would cause this. I am almost positive the title says 97.

That would be torque management. The longer your tires spin, the more timing the PCM will pull. Not traction control. But rather torque management all too common on the 97s.

Again, FWIW, I have mine still enabled because it will save your tranny....trust me, leave it there or pay the price.

Does yours have the light in the DIC??? If this tranny were to ever fail, what would i wanna put in than, something that could take the beating??

The car doesn't take off hard with traction control. Traction control limits torque by spark and fuel, up-shifts to a higher gear to limit torque to the wheels, and in extreme cases can modulate the front brakes to bring them under control. It's much different feeling than torque management, which I think he experienced.

Traction control's purpose isn't to make you take off when doing a burnout. It's to bring your wheels under control so you don't go in a ditch in icy/snowy/rainy conditions. It assists you in stopping the wheels from spinning as you get out of the throttle, not do all the work as you just hold the throttle.
