run with a 07+ acura tl type-s

Was cruising along on the freeway in the fast lane doing 4-5mph over the 65mph speed limit. I noticed a fast approaching car with HIDs coming up fast and I signaled to the right/slow lane to let it pass. Once past I noticed it was a dark blue acura TL type-s with dark rims going like 90mph with a young preppy guy driving was with his girl in the passenger seat. Since I was out tuning, I wanted to see how will my car would do against it so I followed suit. The TL got caught up in traffic and I was not tail-gating by respectfully behind him at least 1.5-2 car lengths. Besides he knew I wanted to play as I came up to him pretty quick when he got stuck behind the car.

Once the car in front of him moved to the slow lane i noticed there was a decent clearing ahead of us from any cars on either side. I just waited for him to go. Indeed he did, and I saw puff of smoke rush out from the dual exhaust each with circular dual tips as we were already going approximately 85-90mph already(not the grand prix’s better range). Grant it he got the jump on me as well as since I was auto it took a bit longer to get the downshift and he was slowly pulling away from me from our already 1.5-2car lengths to like ~3-4 lengths. Once I got the downshift the gapped very slowly stopped and once I reached approximately 115-119mph I was gaining on him very quick up to 1 car length behind him and by this time it was pointless and even more dangerous to continue so I applied the brakes to slow down and he continued to drive on. Eventually as he was distances away he slowed down as well to the flow of traffic. The TL Type-S are very quick cars, being they’re rated at ~286hp/253tq and weighing about the same as grand prixes. I was running with the 3.3” pulley and tuning on 89octane running ~20-21* of timing with blips of KR and only as much as 1.5*KR. I can only imagine what it would feel like running the 3.0” or even a 2.9” lol:th_nanana:
 


nice,u tried.bet it was fun.i just got through talkin bout my run in with a rsx type-s last night on the cobalt ss kill story.fun but got whooped.so u aint alone,we both got whooped by a couple of type-s's.time to mod up.
 
yea will i wish there was another chance to line up right next to him, but he took off b4 i had the chance, however, didnt u read the 2nd half of the story? i amde up the car lengths and by ~115-119 i was already back to a car length and still gaining on him but i backed off cause of the high speed chase. all this with the vs cam but with the 3.3" pulley ;-)
 


The TL-S 04+ will probly be my next car unless I get a GTO. People underestimate my car the CL-S and even the new TL-S.

Headers on the CL-S are proven for a good 15-25 HP....I was in disbelief until I saw all the dyno's...not jet dynoes either

I wanna get headers, intake, and stock size, but lighter underdrive pulley to race my dads 350z and my buddies 02 GTP with pulleys, chip, ice box CAI, and full 3.5" exhaust
